Billy Bob Thornton Debunks Landman Exit Rumors, Confirms Season 3 Return

Be warned, this article contains spoilers for the season 2 finale of Landman. The season ended with a surprising twist, and after rumors spread about Billy Bob Thornton potentially leaving the show, the actor clarified his future with the Paramount series.

Ben Affleck addressed rumors about leaving the show Landman and reports of a relationship with Demi Moore in an interview with USA Today. He dismissed the online speculation as “AI-generated crap.”

Thornton clarified that recent online reports claiming he and Demi are in a relationship, and that he’s departing from the show, are completely false.

Production for Season 3 is scheduled to start in the spring. In a recent interview, Thornton said he’s committed to the show for as long as it continues, whether that’s five or six years, or even longer. Although it’s unknown how the events of Season 2 will affect his character, he clearly enjoys being part of the show and has no plans to leave.

The series Landman takes place in West Texas, where a boom in the oil industry is driving everyone to seek fortune. Oil rigs are increasingly visible across the landscape. In the season 2 finale, Tommy Norris (played by Thornton) assembles a team of trusted colleagues. After being fired by M-Tex owner Cami Miller (played by Moore), he asks them to join him in a new venture.

Paramount+’s ‘Sheridan’ series quickly became its most popular original show, attracting a record-breaking number of viewers when it launched. Despite its initial success, reviews and audience reactions have been mixed, with many unsure if it lives up to the quality of its first season.

Christian Wallace, one of the creators of Landman, suggests the season 3 finale might be bittersweet. The show is currently expected to return in the fall. Good news for fans: Sam Elliott will be back for the third season, and viewers are excited to see what happens next with Norris and his family.

I’m really excited to hear Billy Bob Thornton, the guy behind movies like Bad Santa, Fargo, and The Man Who Wasn’t There, is not only doing Landman but also another film called Somedays. From what I’ve read, Ariana Greenblatt, Pamela Anderson, and Pej Vahdat are also going to be in it, which sounds like an amazing cast!

Landman seasons 1 and 2 are available to stream on Paramount+.
