Making a movie involves a huge amount of work that most viewers don’t realize, and Kevin Hart and other actors can definitely confirm that. Filming action movies, like the new Jumanji 4, is particularly demanding. The cast and crew often work long days and nights, and actors might have to repeat action scenes many times – it’s incredibly tiring! Kevin Hart’s funny collection of photos of himself sleeping on set perfectly shows just how exhausting movie making can be.
As a huge movie fan, I’m really excited to hear they’re finally making another Jumanji! It’s been 30 years since the original came out, and it’s cool to see Jack Black, Karen Gillan, Dwayne Johnson, and Kevin Hart all back together for what sounds like the last adventure. Honestly though, part of me thinks it’s a good thing they’re wrapping up the series. I saw a picture on Instagram of Kevin Hart completely passed out in his costume on set, and it made me wonder how much more of that intense filming he can handle! It seems like they’re pushing everyone to their limits.

I was just joking! A star needing sleep probably isn’t related to their age. The comedian is only 46, after all. Action movies are genuinely demanding, even if he doesn’t do all the stunts himself. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson shared on Facebook that filming the first Jumanji involved 12-14 hour days, mostly shooting outdoors. So, while Nikki Glaser recently made a joke about Jumanji at the Golden Globes, I think the actor has shown that the film truly is intense and challenging.
A big part of why filming is so tiring, especially for movies like Jumanji that shoot on location, is the lifestyle. Actors often live in trailers for months, and the set becomes their entire world – they eat, celebrate, and even take quick naps there, as Kevin Hart experienced.
On a movie set like Jumanji, actors need to stay in costume and be prepared to film quickly, which is why Kevin Hart was sometimes seen napping while sitting up in his safari outfit. It’s probably good he can fall asleep anywhere, anytime! I really don’t blame anyone for grabbing a quick nap whenever they can – I’d do the same thing.
Despite the demanding filming process, the Jumanji movies have been a huge success, and I especially love them as comedies. Central Intelligence first brought Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Kevin Hart together on screen, but I think Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle really solidified them as a fantastic comedic duo. Add Jack Black and Karen Gillan to the mix, and you have a winning combination!
I’m really excited to see the original cast reunite and their tribute to Robin Williams in Jumanji 4, which is scheduled to come out later this year. Hopefully, Kevin Hart and the rest of the cast get plenty of rest while they’re filming.
