The upcoming 2026 film, Avengers: Doomsday, will feature characters from across the Marvel universe, including heroes from the X-Men movies previously made by 20th Century Fox. Evan Peters, a popular actor from those X-Men films, has publicly stated he’d love to reprise his role as Quicksilver in the new movie, especially now that Sir Ian McKellen is returning as Magneto.
Evan Peters says he ‘would absolutely love to’ play Quicksilver again
Actor Evan Peters, known for playing Quicksilver in the X-Men films, recently said he’d be open to returning to the role. With Marvel’s Multiverse bringing all their different storylines together, a return to the MCU is now possible.
Evan Peters expressed his strong interest in portraying the relationship between Quicksilver and Magneto in a movie, telling MovieWeb he’d find it “incredibly fun” to explore that dynamic.
Evan Peters, known for his role in American Horror Story, expressed his hope for a more down-to-earth portrayal of Quicksilver if he returns to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He playfully suggested they could make the character feel more relatable and realistic, calling him ‘the old Quickie’.
The 38-year-old actor first played Quicksilver, Marvel’s fastest hero, in the 2014 film X-Men: Days of Future Past. He went on to play the character in four movies total, including a brief appearance in Deadpool 2 in 2018.
Throughout most of his roles as the silver-haired superhero, except for the Deadpool sequel, Peters consistently appeared alongside Michael Fassbender’s Magneto. Despite this, the films never explored the potential father-son relationship between their characters.
Evan Peters has technically already appeared as Quicksilver in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, in the series WandaVision. However, he played a character pretending to be Pietro Maximoff, not the actual Quicksilver. Even though fans loved his portrayal, it’s currently unknown if he’ll reprise the role in future MCU projects.
