Chicago Fire Loses Another Star, But His Next Role Will Blow Your Mind!

It goes like this: As they say when one opportunity ends, another begins, and that’s exactly what’s happening for Michael Bradway from Chicago Fire. Unfortunately, he won’t be returning for Season 14 of NBC’s popular first responder drama, which is quite disappointing. However, on the very same day this news was released, it was also announced that he will take on a significant role in an upcoming screen adaptation based on a book that happens to be at the top of many people’s most anticipated list.

Michael Bradway Has Been Added To The List Of Actors Not Returning To Chicago Fire

In the thirteenth season of Chicago Fire, Michael Bradway made his debut as Severide’s half-brother, Jack Damon. He appeared in a total of seventeen episodes throughout seasons twelve and thirteen. However, after that stint, it has been confirmed by TVLine that he will not reappear for the upcoming fourteenth season, which is set to air this fall according to the 2025 television schedule.

This news adds an extra gloom because it’s the third major cast exit in a brief period for the show. Previously, it was disclosed that Daniel Kyri and Jake Lockett wouldn’t return as Darren Ritter and Sam Carver. After his departure, Lockett expressed about the unpredictability of the future and how he’ll miss this job tremendously.

For Bradway, his departure isn’t as tough since there’s speculation he might return to the NBC show. Yet, I’m not overly concerned about this development due to another project – a romantic series on Amazon that he’s involved in.

With a Peacock TV subscription, starting at just $7.99 monthly or $79.99 yearly, you can enjoy streaming all your favorite One Chicago series before they come back in the fall! Check out the offer here.

Michael Bradway Landed A Major Supporting Role In The Adaptation Of Every Summer After, And I Can’t Wait

The report on Bradway leaving Chicago Fire didn’t provide an explanation, but there’s no doubt that the timing seems quite fortunate. On the very same day, it was announced that he would be portraying Charlie Florek in the adaptation of Carley Fortune’s popular book, Every Summer After.

The show, now titled Every Year After, will eventually be accessible through an Amazon Prime subscription after its rebranding. It’s adapted from a top-selling romance novel, with Bradway portraying the older brother of the story’s main male character. The narrative explores the friendship between Sam and Percy, who grow up living next door to each other and spend their summers in Barry’s Bay over various years.

If the series adheres to the original source, a significant conflict arises between Sam and Percy, causing them to avoid each other for several years. However, a heart-wrenching event eventually forces them to reunite.

So, all this, along with a recent update about Amy B. Harris signing on as showrunner, was known. However, on July 17, Bradway was cast as the ever-flirtatious Charlie (which you can see the Charlie-coded way he announced this news in the Instagram story below). Along with him, Fortune revealed the show’s leads – Sadie Soverall will play Percy and Matt Cornett will play Sam.

I find this incredibly exciting, as I have a deep affection for “Every Summer After”. It’s the perfect beach read, and I’ve longed to witness the enchanting lake atmosphere and captivating romance on the big screen. Now, my wish is coming true, as they’re currently in production. Frankly, I can hardly contain my excitement!

Yet, the enthusiasm surrounding Bradway doesn’t cease with just the success of Every Year After. My hope is that if the former proves successful, they might extend the narrative by bringing to life Fortune’s novel One Golden Summer, a tale focusing on Charlie’s journey towards love.

It appears that this new series may offer Michael Bradway a more significant part than what he had in Chicago Fire, and viewers are eager to witness his portrayal of the well-loved character Charlie. Yet, as we’ve come to expect, change is never easy, and his absence will be felt on the NBC drama.

To recall, just as I mentioned earlier, when one opportunity ends, another begins. Now, it appears that Michael Bradway is on the brink of stepping into a bright, warm, and thrilling new phase!
