After over 20 years, LEGO Star Wars is bringing back a character many fans will remember from the earlier Star Wars films. With the 20th anniversary of Revenge of the Sith approaching, there’s a lot of interest in the prequel movies from those who grew up watching them. LEGO is reportedly responding to this nostalgia by including a previously overlooked bounty hunter in a new set.
LEGO fans who love Star Wars may be getting a new set based on the prequel movies! According to a report on Instagram from The Brick Tap, the rumored set, called “EP II Bounty Hunter Pursuit,” will recreate the exciting chase scene from Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones. The scene features Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker pursuing Zam Wesell through the city of Coruscant after she tried to harm Senator Padme Amidala.

If true, this would be the first time the Wesell character – originally portrayed by Leeanna Walsman – has been included in a LEGO set for more than two decades.
The last LEGO set she appeared in was the 2002 LEGO Star Wars Bounty Hunter Pursuit (#7133), which featured her minifigure with Obi-Wan and Anakin in their vehicle.

Okay, so there was this bounty hunter named Zam, and she was a Clawdite – meaning she could change her appearance. Jango Fett hired her to take out Padmé, who was about 24 at the time. It all went south pretty quickly though, because Zam tried to bomb Padmé! That led to this insane, fast-paced chase scene through the underlevels of Coruscant. It was a total mess, but honestly, a really exciting part of the story.
Obi-Wan and Anakin chased her as she sped through tunnels and busy aerial streets, using her speeder and weapons to try and get away.

The pursuit concluded at a dimly lit bar. Wesell attempted to surprise Kenobi, but he felt her presence and quickly reacted, cutting off her arm with his lightsaber.

As Wesell was dying and trying to name her boss, Jango Fett quickly and silently killed her with a dart fired from a hidden weapon in his wrist, preventing her from finishing the sentence, “It was a bounty hunter called…”

This event kicks off much of the story in Attack of the Clones. Specifically, it eventually leads Obi-Wan to discover the planet Kamino, as he follows the trail of Jango Fett’s weapon back to where it was made.
This new set will bring back that exciting scene, giving LEGO fans a chance to add a classic and memorable piece to their collection.
This character’s ability to change shape isn’t new to Star Wars stories. According to the book Star Wars: The Secrets of the Bounty Hunters, Zam Wesell had the power to disguise herself after the speeder crash, but she intentionally stayed and confronted Obi-Wan and Anakin because they interfered with her assignment.
The book clarifies that her choice wasn’t an error, but a deliberate act of revenge, providing a logical explanation within the story for what appeared to be a reckless move.
Fans are still uncovering interesting details about the Star Wars prequels. Just recently, it was confirmed that George Lucas’s face is hidden in The Phantom Menace – subtly carved into a stone plaque during a battle scene on Naboo. This discovery finally confirms a rumor that fans have been discussing for 25 years.
More Star Wars Prequel Stories Incoming?
Even though many fans enjoy the Star Wars prequel trilogy, it doesn’t seem likely that Lucasfilm will be making a lot of new movies or shows set during that time period in the near future.
The studio clearly enjoys bringing back familiar actors to explore past events, like Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader. Christensen has already reappeared in Season 1 of Ahsoka, and is expected to be in the upcoming Season 2, which will be released on Disney+ later this year.
The impact of this revival reached even Ahmed Best, the actor who played Jar Jar Binks. He returned to the Star Wars galaxy in Season 3 of The Mandalorian as the Jedi Master Kelleran Beq.
Fans still love the prequel movies, and LEGO sets like “EP II Bounty Hunter Pursuit” remind them of that era. However, don’t expect any big new stories from that time period anytime soon.
