Jason Statham Is More Dangerous Than Ever in New ‘Shelter’ Teaser

The new trailer for this month’s action thriller shows Jason Statham as a powerful protector, deadly fighter, and a master of his craft. He’s back to doing what he does best – taking down villains with a combination of hand-to-hand combat, gunfire, and even a stylish champagne flute! Check out the exciting new footage below.

Jason Statham recently shared a new clip from his upcoming movie, Shelter, on Instagram. Fans reacted enthusiastically, filling the comments with fire emojis, and are eagerly anticipating what looks to be one of his most exciting action films yet. The movie, slated for release on January 30, 2026, from Black Bear Pictures, reunites Statham with the director of Shot Caller, Greenland, and Angel Has Fallen – a pairing that action fans are sure to love.

I’m really excited about this new film, Shelter! It’s written by Ward Parry and has an incredible cast. We’re talking Bodhi Rae Breathnach, who I loved in Hamnet, alongside Naomi Ackie (Blink Twice) and Daniel Mays (Rogue One), plus, of course, Jason Statham. I just saw the first teaser and wanted to share the official synopsis with everyone…

A man living alone on a faraway island saves a young girl during a dangerous storm. This act pulls them both into a perilous situation, forcing the man to face his difficult history as they struggle to survive and find a new path forward.

‘Shelter’ Not Only Finds Statham at His Most Dangerous, but Also at His Best

As a huge action movie fan, I’m really excited about Jason Statham’s latest, Shelter. The director, Ric Roman Waugh, thinks this one showcases Statham at his absolute best – and that’s saying something! Waugh is on a roll right now, with both Shelter and the new Gerard Butler movie, Greenland 2: Migration, hitting screens. He’s really confident that Shelter will remind everyone just how talented Statham is as an actor, and honestly, I’m inclined to agree!

Director Waugh praised Jason Statham’s performance in Shelter, calling it his best work yet. He believes Statham truly shines as an action star and will impress audiences with his acting ability. Waugh described the performance as both captivating and emotionally resonant, highlighting Statham’s thorough preparation, dedication to the role, and collaborative spirit. He added that Statham was a joy to work with, always striving for excellence.

I’m already so excited for 2026! After loving The Beekeeper and A Working Man, I can’t wait to see everything Jason Statham has coming up – we’re calling it “The Year of The Stath” for a reason! He’s going to be starring in Mutiny, directed by Jean-François Richet, which hits theaters August 21st, and he’s returning as Adam Clay in The Beekeeper 2. But the biggest news for me? He’s working with Guy Ritchie and Vinnie Jones again on a follow-up to Layer Cake called Viva La Madness! It’s going to be an amazing year for action fans.
