A fresh photo taken on set might be hinting at Eman Esfandi’s revamped portrayal of Ezra Bridger for Season 2 of Ahsoka. This snapshot, shared on social media during the production process, seems to provide a sneak peek at the updated live-action Jedi look after his return from exile.
Eman Esfandi’s Ezra Bridger could have a new look in Ahsoka Season 2
The image, initially posted by Esfandi on Instagram Story and then reposted by @Mandoverse_updates on Threads, displays a new appearance for Esfandi – he’s clean-shaven and sporting shorter hair, quite different from the bearded, long-haired style he had during Ahsoka Season 1.
Initially appearing as Ezra in Ahsoka’s first season, Esfandi was cast to play the matured version of the Jedi character who had spent years in another galaxy with Thrawn. His initial appearance mirrored the struggles and solitude he experienced during that period. As production for Season 2 begins, his new look is more consistent with Ezra’s early appearance from the Star Wars Rebels animated series.
In Season 2, Ezra’s storyline will deviate from his journey in Season 1. Instead of him being the one searched for across the vast galaxy by Ahsoka and Sabine, they were the ones seeking him out. However, the finale saw a switch in their positions as Ezra and Thrawn returned to the main galaxy, while Ahsoka and Sabine remained on Peridea. As a result, it’s anticipated that Ezra will assume a more significant role within the New Republic.
As per the latest information about Ahsoka’s production, Season 2 is set to explore further adventures of Rosario Dawson’s character Ahsoka Tano and Natasha Liu Bordizzo’s Sabine Wren on Peridea. Meanwhile, there are hints that Ezra may join forces with Hera Syndulla again, possibly along with Zeb, to resist Thrawn’s troops. Previous cast members like Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Hayden Christensen will also reappear in the upcoming season.
Esfandi’s recent makeover has been likened to Ezra’s initial lively style as seen in Seasons 1 and 2 of Rebels. This change could symbolize a shift in the character’s mental state following his rescue, and a fresh commitment to his objectives.
Ahsoka Season 2 is currently in production and expected to stream on Disney+ in 2026.
