A recent report indicates that Black Panther’s costume in the fourth trailer for Avengers: Doomsday was originally different than what was ultimately shown.
Marvel is currently finishing up work on Avengers: Doomsday, directed by Joe and Anthony Russo. The film is scheduled to hit US theaters later this year, and a follow-up movie, Avengers: Secret Wars, is planned for release in 2027.
Over the last few weeks, Marvel has been sharing short previews for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie. The first preview showed that Chris Evans will reprise his role as Captain America, while the second highlighted Thor, played by Chris Hemsworth. A third preview featured several characters from the X-Men.
Okay, so I just saw the fourth teaser trailer for Avengers: Doomsday – it was playing before Avatar: Fire and Ash, but honestly, it was all over the internet earlier this week anyway. This one really highlights Letitia Wright as Shuri/Black Panther, which is awesome. You also get glimpses of other characters like Tenoch Huerta Mejía’s Namor, Winston Duke as M’Baku, and even Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s Ben Grimm, aka The Thing. Pretty cool stuff!
What costume did Black Panther originally have in Avengers: Doomsday’s fourth trailer?
The newest trailer for Avengers: Doomsday shows Black Panther in a slightly blue suit. But according to insider James Mack, that wasn’t the initial design.
Mack noted that the color of Shuri’s suit was originally purple in early concept art, and he expressed disappointment that this color wasn’t used in the final design.
Currently, information about ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is just speculation. No official concept art has been released. It’s also unknown why Black Panther’s costume appears different, and whether the movie will explain this change.
The highly anticipated Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to premiere on December 18, 2026, with Avengers: Secret Wars following closely behind on December 17, 2027.
