Details about the story of “The Batman 2” are emerging, and we’re getting hints about what Scarlett Johansson and Sebastian Stan might do in the film.
What are the new The Batman 2 plot details?
On the latest episode of The Hot Mic podcast, Jeff Sneider revealed details about the upcoming Batman sequel. He stated it’s widely known that actor Brendan Fraser was cast as Harvey Dent, and that he’d previously heard Fraser’s character’s wife would actually have a more significant part in the film than Harvey himself.
Sneider also predicts the next actor cast will likely be an older man, possibly playing Harvey Dent’s father or the character of Dr. Arkham. He believes the movie will primarily center around the Dent family and draw inspiration from multiple different Batman stories to create a combined narrative.
It’s been a while in the making, but The Batman Part II is finally in development. The first film, released in 2022, was a huge success, earning over $770 million worldwide and starring Robert Pattinson as Batman.
Production on The Batman 2 is scheduled to start at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in London on January 1, 2026, according to a new report.
I’m so excited to hear Robert Pattinson is coming back as Batman! It’s great news. We don’t know much about who else will be in the sequel yet, but there’s been talk that Scarlett Johansson might join the cast, potentially playing Harvey Dent’s wife. Hopefully, we’ll see some familiar faces too – I’d love to see Colin Farrell back as The Penguin, and it wouldn’t be the same without Andy Serkis as Alfred and Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon. Fingers crossed they all return!
The sequel to The Batman, written by Matt Reeves and Mattson Tomlin, will bring back Jeffrey Wright as Jim Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell as the Penguin. However, Zoe Kravitz is not anticipated to return as Catwoman/Selina Kyle. Filming is scheduled to begin next spring.
The Batman 2 will be released in the United States on October 1, 2027.
