Starting from 2023, the HBO Max Harry Potter series has been creating a magical excitement among viewers as it invites us back to the hallowed halls of Hogwarts. Lately, we’ve been inundated with numerous captivating casting announcements and production updates. However, what sets this new endeavor apart is the innovative approach being taken by the crew to cater to the actual scholarly requirements of the actors portraying Harry and his friends at school.
As fresh updates on the upcoming TV show pour in regularly, such as its expected debut in 2027, I’m confident that we’ll keep hearing intriguing tidbits about it. From Dominic McLaughlin donning Gryffindor robes on Harry Potter’s initial set day to a sneak peek of Nick Frost portraying Hagrid, we’ve gathered plenty of insights into what lies ahead. Now, we’re also privy to some significant behind-the-scenes info, as it’s been disclosed how the production team intends to carry on the academic growth of its young actors during filming.
The Real Kids Behind The Large Hogwarts Student Body Are Getting Their Own School
It’s quite usual to find tutors and educational facilities on movie sets in Hollywood, especially given child labor laws. However, the Warner Bros Studio Leavesden is raising the bar significantly by constructing a real school. This extensive and intricate production will house a long-term semi-permanent campus, similar to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, catering to a large number of students who are part of the set.
Up to 600 students will learn in temporary structures instead of traditional classrooms. It’s quite surprising, but it works given that a large number of young sorcerers and sorceresses will be enrolled, including the new versions of Harry, Ron, and Hermione on both screen and off-screen platforms!
To clarify, while the maximum capacity is substantial, it’s usually 150 children who attend each session. Furthermore, the operating hours, spanning from 5:30 in the morning until 8:30 in the evening, offer a wide range to cater to everyone’s educational requirements right from the start.
HBO Max’s Harry Potter Cast And Crew Began Production On July 14
2021 has seen significant developments for the highly-anticipated streaming series that will be exclusive to HBO Max. Following an open audition process, speculation, excitement, and a drip-feed of formal announcements, filming has commenced at Hogwarts (indicating that many schools will soon be buzzing with activity).
This indicates that we are nearly at the point where we’ll get a glimpse of our primary trio, John Lithgow playing Dumbledore, Nick Frost as Hagrid, and many other exciting additions. Incredibly, they’ve even cast the Hogwarts Express! To switch things up for a moment, production on the Harry Potter series is full steam ahead now, and I’m eagerly anticipating learning more about this upcoming adventure in the Wizarding World.
It’s not hard to anticipate that we’re merely scratching the surface with the news surrounding this major project by HBO. I can hardly wait to discover behind-the-scenes accounts of filming legendary scenes, as well as tales about attending Hogwarts, both on and off camera. Much like these students, I’m eager to learn!
