Try Them All Out
This week, a series of studios added new games to play for free on Steam. Here’s a quick breakdown:
- Skybound
- Price of Obsession
- The Scream Of Darkness
- BND-Legenden: Operation Blackbox
- Poker Fate – ACG Texas Hold’em (free-to-play)
Of all the games available, Skybound stands out as the most captivating. It’s a 3D exploration game centered around challenging parkour puzzles. The premise is quite intriguing: you play as Bell, a young archaeologist who journeys across mystical floating islands in search of lost artifacts. Bell has special tools – like a grappling hook, agility boots, and the power of “Flow” – to help her explore ancient, untouched ruins.
The developers have said this is just the beginning of Skybound, with plans for future installments if players enjoy it. While similar games were popular on the Xbox 360, they’ve become less common lately, so it’s great to see Half Home Games continuing to create them.
The Scream of Darkness is a free indie horror game that uses jump scares. While some players feel it’s too short, it currently has a “positive” rating from Steam users.
BND-Legenden: Operation Blackbox is a captivating tactical stealth game where you guide a cyberpunk-style character through a high-tech facility. It’s received good reviews on Steam, although it’s currently only available in languages other than English.
Lastly, Poker Fate – ACG Texas Hold’em is the only game in the collection that’s free to play. This means it includes in-game purchases, and opinions on Steam have been divided. Some players dislike the way the free-to-play system limits progress unless you spend money.
You Won’t Need A Subscription
It’s An Easy Click
I’m really digging these games because I don’t have to worry about yet another subscription! Seriously, I’m so over juggling Luna, PlayStation Plus, and Xbox Game Pass. It’s nice to just buy and play without all that extra hassle.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed by paid subscriptions in 2026, consider trying Steam. They have a growing selection of free games and content you can check out.
