I absolutely love romance novels! I’m always looking for great movies and TV shows based on the books I enjoy, and the next year or so looks promising. We’re getting the fourth season of Bridgerton in 2026, plus adaptations of two of my favorite books, People We Meet on Vacation and Every Summer After.

I’ve Been Dying For An Emily Henry Adaptation, And People We Meet On Vacation Will Be The First One
I’m a huge Emily Henry fan – I’ve read almost all of her books and have been eagerly waiting for adaptations to be made. So, I was thrilled to hear that one of her novels was finally becoming a movie or show! And I was especially excited when I found out it would be People We Meet On Vacation.
I just finished a book about two friends, Poppy and Alex, and honestly, it gave me major When Harry Met Sally vibes. It follows them through years of friendship and all their trips together, and I was completely hooked watching their relationship change. Seriously, the whole thing – the years, the travel, the silly vacation moments – feels like a perfect setup for a really charming movie. I can already picture it!
But the real excitement comes from the casting! Honestly, this movie was destined to be great no matter who starred in it, but Emily Bader as Poppy and Tom Blyth as Alex truly exceeded my expectations.
I really enjoyed Tom Blyth’s performance as Snow in The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, so I’m thrilled to see him take on a completely different role in PWMOV. I also became a fan of Isabella Bader in the Amazon Prime series My Lady Jane (which unfortunately ended after just one season). She was incredibly charming in that show, a loose adaptation of Lady Jane Grey’s life, and I was eager to see her personality shine on the big screen. Combining these two talented actors in a film felt like a perfect pairing.
Having explained all of that, it should be clear why I’m incredibly thrilled about the announcement that People We Meet on Vacation will be a movie in 2026. I’m more than just excited – I’m genuinely ecstatic!
People We Meet on Vacation will be available on Netflix on January 9.

People We Meet on Vacation: Collector’s Edition (Netflix Tie-In) for $14.97 on Amazon.
Okay, so I just finished watching this super cute rom-com on Netflix, and naturally, I wanted to read the book it’s based on! You can actually grab a copy on Amazon right now – here’s a link if you’re interested!

I’ve Been Yearning For Benedict’s Season Of Bridgerton
I’ve been eagerly awaiting Benedict Bridgerton’s love story ever since the show changed the order of the siblings’ seasons. Luke Thompson, who plays Benedict, is my favorite character, and I’ve been hoping for his season for a long time – I’ve even written about hints that it was coming! I’m so excited to finally see Benedict fall in love with Sophie.
I’m a total romantic, so I’m eagerly anticipating the fourth season of Bridgerton, scheduled to air in 2026. I’m especially excited about Benedict’s storyline – the idea of him being a Prince Charming type and finding Sophie after the masquerade ball is just perfect. Even though we haven’t seen much of them together yet, their story feels magical and beautifully set up. Knowing how much romance, passion, and charm this Netflix series delivers, I’m confident Benedict and Sophie’s story will be amazing.
I’m excited about the new romance, and I also can’t wait to see what’s happening with Penelope and Colin, and Anthony and Kate. I really love their love stories, and it makes me happy to check in and see how they are doing as couples.
Season 4 of Bridgerton is adapting the novel An Offer From a Gentleman. While I haven’t read that particular book, I have enjoyed the other books featured in the series. I’ve been a fan of the Netflix show since it began, and I’m excited that Benedict Bridgerton is finally getting his own storyline.
The first part of Bridgerton Season 4 will premiere on Netflix on January 29th, with the second part arriving on February 26th. You’ll need a Netflix subscription to watch.

You can now find the paperback edition of An Offer from a Gentleman: Benedict’s Story—the book that inspires Season Four of Bridgerton—on Amazon for $10.34.
If you’re as excited about Sophie and Benedict’s love story as I am, you absolutely have to read the book, An Offer from a Gentleman, before watching the show! I’ve already grabbed my copy – it’s a great deal!

Every Year After Will Bring One Of My Favorite Summer Books To The Screen
Look, I’ve officially become a Carley Fortune devotee – I devour everything she writes, and honestly, it’s all been fantastic. But if I had to pick two standouts, it’s definitely Every Summer After and its sequel, One Golden Summer. I’m really excited about the upcoming Amazon Prime adaptation, Every Year After, based on the first book. I’m crossing my fingers it’s a hit so we get to see the whole series brought to life – the story truly deserves it.
Every Summer After tells the story of Percy and Sam, who become close friends during their summers spent as neighbors in Barry’s Bay. Percy visits each year, while Sam lives there permanently. Their relationship eventually blossoms into something more, and the journey to get there is full of both drama and sweet moments.
The story’s location is truly special. The setting of Barry’s Bay is enchanting, and it will be wonderful to see Sam and Percy’s love story unfold there. The video below captures the warm, summery atmosphere perfectly!

I really love this story, and I’m also excited that the show will introduce some fresh faces. I’m particularly looking forward to seeing Sadie Soverall play Percy, Matt Cornett as Sam, and Michael Bradway as Sam’s brother, Charlie.
If this show is successful, we might also adapt One Golden Summer, which would continue Charlie’s romantic storyline and show us what’s been happening with Percy and Sam.
I really hope we get to visit Barry’s Bay soon! Although there’s no official release date yet, the creators have been working on it for a while and say it’s “coming soon,” so I’m optimistic we’ll be able to explore this lakeside town with Percy and Sam sometime in 2026.
Every Year After will eventually be available with an Amazon Prime subscription.

Every Summer After is available in paperback on Amazon for $9.07.

I’m already really excited about these projects! They’re all based on stories and themes I truly love, and I think we’re going to see a lot of heartwarming romance over the next year – which I’m absolutely thrilled about.
