Yoshihiro Togashi, the beloved manga artist known for his popular series, recently shared a cute magical-girl drawing to let fans know he’s still working on the next chapter, even though the manga is currently on break.
Yoshihiro Togashi, the creator of Hunter x Hunter, recently shared a new illustration on his official X (formerly Twitter) account. This is the latest news regarding the upcoming chapters, specifically numbers 411 through 426. Since 2022, Togashi has been keeping fans updated on the series’ progress by posting sketches on X.
Yoshihiro Togashi’s latest drawing of Sailor Mars is a tribute to his wife, Naoko Takeuchi, the famous creator of Sailor Moon. While they’ve inspired each other’s artwork and worked together before, their collaborations are rarely shared with the public, making this new piece especially special.

The latest update showcases a black and white drawing on Yoshihiro Togashi’s familiar “Monthly Calendar” whiteboard. Sailor Mars is depicted holding a Japanese talisman called an ofuda, but instead of the usual inscription meaning “Evil spirit, disperse,” this one reads “Draft manuscript No. 412 complete.”
People have filled Togashi’s post with comments showing their gratitude, encouragement, and appreciation for the recent news and the strong bond between Togashi and Takeuchi.
Many fans are worried about the artist’s health, which has repeatedly caused delays for the manga. Since 2006, the manga’s release has been frequently interrupted by the artist’s health problems, with breaks lasting from weeks to years. The artist’s social media account, used for updates, often goes silent for long periods, but has been more active since August 2025 following a period of inactivity that began in December 2024.
The latest chapters of the series, numbered 401 to 410 and released in December 2024, concluded the “Succession Contest” arc, also known as the “Black Whale” arc. These chapters focused on the Hunter Association’s expedition to the Dark Continent, which is secretly a dangerous competition to determine the next ruler, taking place on a ship called the Black Whale. This competition complicates Kurapika’s search for the Scarlet Eyes and also involves a pursuit of Hisoka.
The next set of chapters will continue the current storyline, starting with Chapter 411. The last update before the Sailor Mars illustration was posted on December 16, 2025, and showed a sketch of Hisoka with a speech bubble saying he had finished inking the characters for Chapter 426. Chapter 426 is the furthest point in the Hunter x Hunter series that creator Yoshihiro Togashi has confirmed is currently being worked on.
As of today, there’s no confirmed release date for the next set of Hunter x Hunter chapters. However, the author stated in December 2024, with the publication of chapters 401-410, that he plans to write at least 50 more, and there are currently no plans to end the series.
While fans are still waiting for new installments of Hunter x Hunter, they can currently enjoy chapters 1 through 410 on the Manga Plus app and website from Shueisha.
