Randy Havens, the actor who plays Mr. Clarke on Stranger Things, has debunked claims about lost footage from the show. Following the release of Season 5, many fans expressed disappointment and circulated a petition requesting Netflix release deleted scenes. Some even shared documents supposedly detailing these cuts. However, Havens used Instagram to clarify that this footage doesn’t actually exist, addressing the frustrations of the hundreds of thousands of fans who signed the petition.
In an Instagram story, per Entertainment Weekly, Havens shared the message:
Don’t fall for rumors – there isn’t a hidden version of the show. Be careful about believing everything you read online from unknown sources.
The “Snyder Cut” refers to the original version of the Justice League movie that director Zack Snyder shared details about – a version different from what actually made it to theaters. This led fans to ask for Snyder’s version to be released. However, this situation is different from recent requests for an alternate cut of the final season of Stranger Things. Snyder publicly stated the released Justice League wasn’t his intended film, while the Stranger Things petition isn’t based on any statements from the show’s creators, Matt and Ross Duffer, about a different version of the season.
‘Stranger Things’ Season 5 Is Causing Divisive Reactions

Netflix
It’s hard to understand exactly what’s causing the surprising reaction within the Stranger Things fanbase to the final episodes. As of now, Rotten Tomatoes shows 84% of critics giving Season 5 a positive review, with only one episode remaining. While this is a slight dip from the 97% positive rating of Season 1, and each season has seen a small decrease in scores, an 84% rating is still very good.
The fourth episode of Season 5, “Sorcerer,” quickly became a fan favorite, earning it a high rating on IMDb. However, the following week’s episode, “The Bridge,” received the lowest rating of any episode in the series on the platform.
It’s natural that viewers are very invested in this series, and after a strong start with the first four episodes, many hoped the story would unfold exactly how they envisioned. Now, with just one episode remaining, those who are worried the story won’t meet their expectations are starting to express their concerns.

It’s common for popular TV shows like Lost and Game of Thrones to lose steam as they go on, so it’s not shocking that some Stranger Things fans are becoming disappointed. Currently, rumors about deleted scenes – specifically, a potential romance between Will Byers and Mike Wheeler – are unconfirmed. While fans have petitioned for this storyline, it’s unlikely to happen unless the show’s creators, the Duffer brothers, publicly state that Netflix forced them to alter their original plans.
