Seth Rogen first gained recognition in the TV series Freaks and Geeks and later won an Emmy Award in 2025 for his role as Matt Remick in Apple TV’s The Studio. However, back in 2007, he was known for playing a young father in a film by writer and director Judd Apatow.
Seth Rogen acted in Knocked Up with Katherine Heigl, Paul Rudd, Leslie Mann, Jonah Hill, and former Freaks and Geeks co-stars Martin Starr and Jason Segel. The movie will no longer be available on Netflix starting January 1, 2026.
The 2007 comedy Knocked Up received a nomination for Best Comedy Movie at the 2008 Critics Choice Awards, and both Seth Rogen and Katherine Heigl were nominated for their performances. Directed and written by Judd Apatow – known for films like The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Funny People, and This Is 40 – the film proved to be a major financial success, earning nearly $220 million around the world on a budget of just $30 million.
The film centers on Ben Stone (Rogen) and Alison Scott (Heigl) as they deal with an unplanned pregnancy following a casual encounter. Knocked Up was a major breakthrough for Rogen, leading to starring roles in popular comedies like Superbad (2007), Pineapple Express (2008), and This Is the End (2013). He later expanded his range, taking on more serious parts in films such as 50/50 and Steve Jobs.
Seth Rogen’s The Studio Is Returning for Season 2
Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg co-created the show The Studio, which received an award in September. It originally premiered in March 2025 and features Catherine O’Hara, Ike Barinholtz, Chase Sui Wonders, and Kathryn Hahn.
Following the conclusion of its first season, The Studio has been renewed for a second season. Creators Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg expressed their excitement about continuing the series. Matt Cherniss, head of programming at Apple TV+, also praised the show, calling it brilliant and noting the growing audience engagement. He’s eager to see how the story unfolds in season two and hopes the fictional movie within the show, ‘Kool-Aid,’ is a success.
