As a huge movie fan, I’m really excited to hear that the new Anaconda is predicted to have the biggest opening weekend for the series in almost three decades! It’s a 2025 comedy where Jack Black and Paul Rudd play old friends who try to remake the original Anaconda movie, but things get hilariously real when a massive snake shows up on their set!
Sony Pictures estimates the new Anaconda movie, releasing in 2025, will earn $12.9 million during its opening weekend. Deadline predicts a slightly higher total of $14.4 million. Either way, this would be the second-highest opening weekend for any film in the Anaconda series, falling just short of the original movie’s $16.6 million debut.
This weekend, Anaconda (2025) is closely competing with the thriller The Housemaid for the fourth-highest spot at the domestic box office.
