‘Can’t Believe I’m Going To Say This’: Snoop Dogg Did The NFL’s Christmas Halftime Show, And Fans Had Some Big Feelings

Sports are a holiday tradition for many, from watching classic NBA Christmas games to enjoying NFL matchups. In recent years, Netflix has joined the fun, broadcasting NFL games, and fans had a strong reaction to Snoop Dogg’s halftime performance during the Detroit Lions versus Minnesota Vikings game.

Last year, Netflix proved it could deliver a great NFL halftime show with its successful “Beyoncé Bowl.” This year, Snoop Dogg led the “Holiday Halftime Party,” a Christmas-themed performance featuring a diverse range of musical artists, an orchestra, a choir, and energetic dancers. Subscribers widely praised the show, with one fan commenting:

I never thought I’d suggest this, but the NFL should have Snoop Dogg organize the Super Bowl Halftime Show! A recent performance I saw on Netflix was sophisticated, tasteful, and enjoyable for all ages.

I felt the performance was just as impressive as any recent Super Bowl Halftime Show, with incredibly talented and diverse musicians and a fantastic energy from everyone involved. And Snoop Dogg would know – he was part of a memorable Halftime Show himself in 2022.

It’s tough to appeal to everyone, and I never imagined seeing ballerinas dance to the beginning of Snoop Dogg’s “Nuthin’ but a G’thang.” But surprisingly, it was a huge success, and people were immediately sharing their reactions online, saying:

Along with some of his well-known songs, Snoop Dogg featured the singers from KPop Demon Hunters. They performed a shortened version of “The Twelve Days of Christmas” and cleverly included a line from their Golden Globe-nominated song, “Golden,” when they got to the part about “Five golden rings.”

Martha Stewart, a close friend of Snoop Dogg, both started and ended the show. The performance also included Christmas songs from country artist Lainey Wilson, Andrea Bocelli, and his son Matteo. Dov Kleiman described it as “one of the greatest performances of all time.”

It’s understandable that Pat McAfee didn’t recognize Andrea Bocelli, considering how much he enjoyed the performance with Matteo. Ultimately, the sports commentator gave Snoop Dogg and his collaborators a perfect score of 10 out of 10, stating:

News of the positive reaction to the Holiday Halftime Party reached Snoop Dogg, and he shared his appreciation on X (formerly Twitter), posting a message in response.

Snoop Dogg will be returning to commentate at the Winter Olympics! You can catch him providing commentary for the games in Milano, Italy, when they air on TV in February 2026.
