Among Stephen King’s works in 2025, this stood out as a fan favorite. That year also saw the release of popular titles like The Life of Chuck and It: Welcome to Derry. The Long Walk is scheduled to debut on Starz on January 10, 2026.
This intense survival thriller is adapted from Stephen King’s 1979 novel, originally written under the name Richard Bachman. While not his first published book, it was actually the first novel King wrote – during his freshman year at the University of Maine, nearly ten years before his breakthrough novel, Carrie, came out in 1974.
The movie The Long Walk first came out in theaters on September 12th. Now, about three months later, it will be available to watch on Starz.
Francis Lawrence, who directed The Hunger Games movies, recently directed The Long Walk, a suspenseful survival thriller. The film features a cast including Cooper Hoffman, David Jonsson, Garrett Wareing, Tut Nyuot, Charlie Plummer, Ben Wang, Joshua Odjick, Roman Griffin Davis, Josh Hamilton, Judy Greer, and Mark Hamill, and is based on a screenplay by JT Mollner.
The Long Walk premieres on Starz on Jan. 10, 2026.
