Taylor Sheridan has become well-known for his work on television, creating shows with a unique and engaging style. But he’s not the only one making this kind of show, and his success also relies on the incredibly talented actors and crew who bring his stories to life. While he’s a fantastic storyteller, the shows wouldn’t be the same without everyone involved.
Billy Bob Thornton’s new show, Landman, is a great example of his work, boasting strong performances and a captivating storyline that really draws viewers in. It’s interesting to note that the show feels similar in style and creates a comparable level of suspense to another series on Prime Video.
What Is Goliath About?
I’ve been watching Goliath, and it’s really a story about a lawyer, Billy McBride, who’s completely fallen apart. He got someone off on a crime, and then discovered that man went on to commit an even more horrific act – he killed a whole family. It’s devastating, and Billy’s been trying to numb the pain with alcohol ever since. It’s a really powerful look at how one mistake can haunt you and how hard it is to move on.
When a chance arises for him to make amends, or even just to get revenge on the law firm that abandoned him when he needed help, he starts working to rebuild his life and escape his past.
Billy Bob Thornton Is The Driving Force Of Goliath
Billy Bob Thornton gives a remarkable performance as Billy McBride, fully capturing the character’s emotional depth and portraying a man who needs incredible inner strength to heal and rebuild his life.
Thornton delivers a truly outstanding performance, completely embodying the character. Although the series features several well-known actors in significant parts, Thornton is the driving force of the show, keeping viewers engaged throughout the entire story.
How Goliath Is Different From Landman
At first glance, these shows seem quite different. For example, Landman takes place in West Texas and features Thornton as a lawyer who’s making a lot of money for an oil company. Unlike characters who struggle with personal issues or fight against the system, this character is actually part of the corruption.
Unlike his role in Landman, Goliath centers on a man trying to make amends for past mistakes and find redemption. While the power dynamics shift – with Billy Bob Thornton playing characters on opposing sides of a major law firm, and the characters being at different points in their lives – his performances in both shows are truly captivating and make them both essential viewing.
