Simmons), and the unlikely duo tasked with rescuing him: bounty hunter Jack O’Malley (Evans) and Callum Drift (Johnson), who leads security at the North Pole.
The show Red One is currently number one on Prime Video’s global charts, appearing in the top 10 lists of 50 countries worldwide. This includes popular markets like Australia, Brazil, France, Germany, and the United States, where it’s currently ranked third.
Currently, Red One is the most popular film worldwide, followed by Oh. What. Fun., Tell Me Softly, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Ordinary Angels, She Rides Shotgun, Ice Road: Vengeance, Merv, Playdate, and Guns Up.
It’s remarkable that Evans and Johnson’s film is performing better than classics like How the Grinch Stole Christmas, as well as newer streaming releases such as Oh. What. Fun. and Merv, which both came out in the last month.

This is a surprising comeback for a movie that didn’t do well in theaters earlier this year. Despite costing between $200 and $250 million to make, Red One only earned $186 million worldwide – $97 million in the US and $89 million internationally. It was considered a major financial failure because it didn’t even cover its costs, let alone make a profit.
Reviews for Red One were generally poor, earning it a 30% score on Rotten Tomatoes. In a review for ScreenRant, Simon Gallagher explained that the film failed to capture the magic of Christmas, stating that it lacked the necessary charm despite trying to reimagine the holiday spirit.
Viewers really loved the film, giving it an 89% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and earning a “Verified Hot” designation. Even a year later, it’s still popular with audiences, proving it’s more enduring than initial box office results and negative reviews suggested.

Although Red One hasn’t reached the same level of popularity as the Marvel movies starring Chris Evans or the Fast & Furious films with Dwayne Johnson, it’s establishing itself as a really enjoyable Christmas action movie and is expected to continue doing well throughout the holidays.
