Scott Bakula’s Star Trek: United Teases New & Returning Characters

Michael Sussman, a writer and producer, is sharing his ideas for a potential new Star Trek series, Star Trek: United. While the show isn’t confirmed yet, it’s generating excitement about the possibility of Scott Bakula reprising his role.

A recent video by Nick Hallam and Sci-Finatics gave fans a preview of what the project would be like, including a sample opening sequence. The video revealed that Scott Bakula, who played President Jonathan Archer, would be among several familiar Star Trek characters returning if the show is approved.

The planned series, Star Trek: United, would have continued the story of Captain Archer (played by Scott Bakula) after the events of Star Trek: Enterprise, showing him as the President of the United Federation of Planets. Because the show’s development was announced with Bakula’s involvement, fans have been very excited to learn more about it.

Based on what’s been shared, the new series will feature the return of the popular character Sarek as a young man – an 18-year-old consular aide experiencing his first interactions with humans and the Federation. Additionally, Star Trek: United will bring back Jeffrey Combs as Admiral Shran, now working with Starfleet and supporting President Archer.

Fans are hoping to see the actor return as Minister Talok, a villain who continues to secretly oppose the Federation. There’s also a chance Talok might try to exploit President Archer’s adopted son, T’Var, and turn him against Starfleet.

I’m really excited about the potential new characters for Star Trek: United! It sounds like President Archer’s kids will be a big focus – he has twins, Augustin and Camilla, and an adopted Vulcan son named T’Var. Plus, his wife, Ilani, is a Federation lawyer and the First Lady, so she’ll be a major player, along with their younger daughter, Sabrin. It sounds like a great family dynamic!

Scott Bakula’s Star Trek History — Explained

The Star Trek universe expanded in 2001 with the premiere of Star Trek: Enterprise. This series was set roughly a century before the adventures of Star Trek: The Original Series and chronicled the journey of the Enterprise crew as they became the first humans to travel the galaxy at warp speed and uncover its mysteries.

During its four seasons, Star Trek: Enterprise produced a total of 98 episodes. While critics weren’t always kind—Rotten Tomatoes gave the show a 56% ‘rotten’ rating based on 38 reviews—viewers generally enjoyed it, giving it an 80% score on the site’s audience-driven ‘Popcornmeter’.
