Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Wraps Series: Actors & Creatives Say Goodbye

Well, it’s official – Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has wrapped production. As a longtime fan, it’s tough to say goodbye, but I’m hearing from Anson Mount, Paul Wesley, and the whole team that filming the final six episodes in Toronto before the holidays was a really emotional experience. It seems like everyone involved knew they were finishing something special, and honestly, it’s a bit of a bittersweet moment for us fans too.

Paramount+ has ordered a final season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, but it will be shorter than previous seasons. Season 3 premiered in June, and filming for Season 4 wrapped up in July. Fans can expect Season 4 in 2026, followed by Season 5 in 2027, both on Paramount+.

Anson Mount, known for playing Captain Christopher Pike, shared a heartfelt goodbye to Star Trek: Strange New Worlds on Instagram. He posted a picture of Captain Pike’s empty ready room and announced that filming had officially wrapped at around 11:15 PM EST, as called by Akiva Goldsman, and that many people on set were emotional.

Anson shared how proud he is of his work on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, and what he gained as both an actor and a leader during the experience. You can find See Mount’s post about it below.

As a huge Star Trek: Strange New Worlds fan, it really hit me when I saw Anson Mount’s video. He shared it on Friday, December 19th, and it was him walking through the sets for what seemed like the last time – it was a really emotional moment for him, and honestly, for a lot of us fans too.

On Friday, Paul Wesley posted an Instagram story marking his final day filming Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

Chris Fisher, the director of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, recently shared a heartfelt farewell video. He’s now posted a photo showing the main cast together for the last time on the bridge of the Starship Enterprise.

Bill Wolkoff, a writer and producer known for his work on popular episodes of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds – including the highly-regarded crossover with Star Trek: Lower Decks – has announced that the show has finished filming.

Over the last week, several stars from Star Trek: Strange New Worlds – including Christina Chong, Celia Rose Gooding, Martin Quinn, and Jess Bush – shared on Instagram that they’ve finished filming their parts for the season.

With Anson Mount and Paul Wesley likely being the last actors to film scenes for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, the final shot could depict a changing of the guard – Captain Pike handing over command of the USS Enterprise to Captain James T. Kirk.

With the completion of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ latest season, the future of the show and its team is currently unknown. It’s unclear if Paramount+ will move forward with plans for a potential spin-off, Star Trek: Year One, which would star Paul Wesley as Captain Kirk.

Luckily for fans, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has two more seasons planned for Paramount+. Because they filmed so far ahead, the show already has 16 completed episodes ready to go, ensuring the adventures of the Starship Enterprise will continue even as the actors and crew begin other projects.
