The upcoming meeting between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, who previously worked together on “It Ends with Us,” is imminent. However, a disagreement has arisen over the location for this encounter. Recently, Bryan Freedman, Baldoni’s lawyer, proposed that the discussion be made public via livestream. In response, Lively and her team filed a motion, asking for something substantial. It appears that a judge has granted this motion before the scheduled deposition on July 17th.
Initially, Bryan Freedman proposed that the deposition take place at Madison Square Guardian and tickets be sold for it. He believed the earnings should go to charities assisting domestic abuse victims. However, Blake Lively’s team objected to this plan, claiming Freedman was trying to make the situation a public event. In response, they requested a protective order to ensure the deposition would happen at an undisclosed location. This request has been granted according to People magazine.
Based on the news report, Justin Baldoni and his team need to inform Lively’s camp about the specific individuals attending the deposition by July 15th, noon. Additionally, Lively’s team should arrange suitable accommodations at a location of their preference. Importantly, Baldoni’s group requires access to a dedicated computer for printing and copying documents as needed. At this point, Baldoni’s lawyers have not made any comments regarding the approval of the motion.
In their submission, Blake Lively’s legal team contended that due to the nature of the case and its prominence, there’s a risk that it might become a public spectacle, potentially attracting individuals who might pose security concerns. Furthermore, they emphasized that this is a significant issue involving sexual harassment and retaliation, and as such, it should be handled with due seriousness.
