James Gunn, co-head of DC Studios, has been busy developing the next film in the DCU’s first chapter, focusing on Superman. While details have been scarce, Gunn recently hinted that the powerful villain Brainiac will be featured in the movie. After weeks of speculation about who would play the role, the part has now been officially cast, and Gunn shared the news with a celebratory message.
Lars Eidinger has officially been confirmed to play Brainiac in the DC Universe. The German actor, who is also a rapper, has an extensive filmography, including roles in films and TV shows like My Little Sister, Dying, Babylon Berlin, About Joan, Jay Kelly, and All the Light We Cannot See. This casting fills a key role in the upcoming superhero film, which is exciting news for fans.

James Gunn also seems to be quite pleased with this casting decision for his latest movie. Around the time the news broke, Gunn took to Instagram to share a photo of Eidinger as well as one of Brainiac from the comics. The writer/director also dropped a message as his caption:
After a global search for the perfect Brainiac in the upcoming “Man of Tomorrow” project, we’re thrilled to announce Lars Eidinger will be joining the DC Universe. Welcome aboard, Lars!
