Spider-Man 4 Might Feature [Spoiler]’s MCU Debut — Report

A popular villain may be debuting in Spider-Man 4.

The next Spider-Man movie, currently titled Spider-Man 4 or Spider-Man: Brand New Day, is scheduled to come out in US cinemas next summer. Destin Daniel Cretton, who directed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, is directing, and Tom Holland will return as Peter Parker/Spider-Man.

Who might be debuting in Spider-Man 4?

Sources say Chameleon could be a villain in the next Spider-Man movie. Film reporter Daniel Richtman claims concept art for the character was spotted on the set.

Look, I’m hearing whispers about Chameleon potentially showing up in Spider-Man 4, but honestly, it’s just a rumor right now. We’ve heard similar things before, but Marvel hasn’t officially said anything, so I’m taking it with a grain of salt until we get a confirmation. It’s exciting to think about, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves!

In Spider-Man: Far From Home, Numan Acar played a character named Dimitri, who many fans believe was meant to be a version of the supervillain Chameleon – as Chameleon’s real name is also Dmitri Smerdyakov. However, Dimitri’s role in the film was limited to being a bus driver, and he didn’t display any of Chameleon’s powers or characteristics. A recent report suggests Acar might return as the full Chameleon in the next Spider-Man movie, but it’s also possible a different actor will be cast in the role.

Fred Hechinger played the character Chameleon in the 2024 film Kraven the Hunter. It’s important to note that Kraven the Hunter exists within Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, which is separate from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Spider-Man: Brand New Day arrives on July 31, 2026, as part of Phase 6 of the MCU.
