Just a heads-up: this story reveals who won season 28 of The Voice, which was announced on the live finale on December 16th. If you haven’t seen it yet, you can stream the episode with a Peacock subscription.
That’s all folks! Season 28 of The Voice has concluded with a three-hour finale that aired in 2025 and crowned a new champion. It must have been incredibly stressful for the six finalists waiting to hear Carson Daly announce the winner. Many have wondered if the coaches find out who wins before the show, and thanks to Michael Bublé, we now know the answer.
The holiday special of The Voice began with a recap of the previous Monday’s episode, hosted by Ariana Madix and Dylan Efron. Then, viewers enjoyed two hours of performances by artists like XG, Zac Brown, Noah Cyrus, Neal Schon, and Journey. Finally, Carson Daly revealed that Aiden Ross from Niall Horan’s team had won Season 28, as voted by the American public.

I really thought the 20-year-old from Texas deserved to win The Voice. His performances in the finale – and throughout the whole season, really – were fantastic.
Aiden Ross’s win gives Niall Horan his third consecutive victory on the show, maintaining his perfect record. He previously coached Gina Miles and Huntley to wins in Seasons 23 and 24. Here’s how all six finalists placed:
- Winner: Aiden Ross (Team Niall)
- Second place: Ralph Edwards (Team Snoop)
- Third place: DEK of Hearts (Team Niall)
- Fourth place: Aubrey Nicole (Team Reba)
- Fifth place: Max Chambers (Team Bublé)
- Sixth place: Jazz McKenzie (Team Bublé)
You know, before Aiden Ross was revealed as the winner, Niall Horan let slip that the coaches weren’t exactly shocked. He basically told Aiden beforehand that whoever won wouldn’t be a huge surprise to them – a pretty interesting comment considering how things played out! It felt like Niall knew something the rest of us didn’t, or at least suspected the outcome.
We all immediately knew you were special. From the moment you performed, we could see you had what it takes. You’ve consistently impressed us throughout the competition, and it’s been a real joy having you. You’re a genuinely kind and talented person, and we wish you all the best in the future.
So did Niall Horan and the others know at that moment who the winner was?
Michael Bublé Says The Voice Coaches Don’t Find Out The Winner In Advance
Michael Bublé shared an interesting detail about The Voice: the coaches actually find out the results of America’s vote at the same time as everyone else – the contestants and the audience! He mentioned this during Tuesday’s finale episode.
On this show, we genuinely don’t know what’s going to happen – not even until the very end. I promise you, we’re just as surprised as you are!
Keeping the results secret from both the coaches and contestants is tough, but it’s understandable. It ensures their reactions are real and prevents any accidental spoilers before the reveal.
Though the current season of The Voice has ended, fans won’t have to wait long for Season 29! It’s coming to NBC on Monday, February 23, 2026, at 9 p.m. Eastern, with fresh rounds and exciting new twists.
