One of the shows related to NCIS has already stopped airing new episodes for the fall. Viewers eager to see what happens next have just received disappointing news.
The ninth episode of NCIS: Sydney‘s third season, titled “South of Nowhere,” was scheduled to air on December 16th and serve as the season’s mid-season finale. However, CBS unexpectedly canceled the episode’s release just hours before its 8 p.m. airtime, according to TVLine.
CBS hasn’t explained why it’s making this change. Instead of airing a new episode of the show – which would have paused the season – CBS will broadcast a repeat of NCIS Season 22, Episode 10, titled “Baker’s Man.”
The airdate for the episode “South of Nowhere” (Season 3, Episode 9) is currently unknown. While it’s expected to air sometime after February 24th – the date of CBS’s midseason premiere – the network hasn’t confirmed if it will be part of that premiere or arrive earlier.
A preview for Episode 9, released on December 9th, hinted at a lot of action. According to the episode description, the team travels to a research station in Antarctica to solve a murder that happened during the darkest time of year. They have to figure out what happened and escape before their plane is grounded by the extreme cold, leaving them stranded in the dark for half a year.
