Captain America plays a key role in the Avengers‘ latest initiative, and his portrayal stays true to the character we know and love. Thanks to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Captain America has become a hugely popular superhero in live-action films. Chris Evans first gained recognition as Steve Rogers in the highly praised Captain America movie trilogy, which many consider to be among the best in the MCU.
In Avengers: Endgame, Steve Rogers passed the Captain America shield to Sam Wilson, played by Anthony Mackie. Mackie then led Captain America: Brave New World, which is scheduled for release in 2025. Both characters may reunite in Avengers: Doomsday, the highly anticipated next installment. Before that, a new animated special will bring more Captain America stories to younger viewers.
Marvel Has Revealed What New Avengers Special’s Captain America Looks Like
Okay, so Marvel fans, it looks like we’re facing a bit of a gap in MCU content for 2025 with the Wonder Man delay. But honestly? That just means it’s the perfect time to revisit some of the great Marvel films we did get this year. I’m particularly excited about Spidey and Iron Man: Avengers Team-Up – a new animated special bringing together a bunch of our favorite heroes. It’s a fun, action-packed watch and ideal for the holidays.
The animated Avengers team is fronted by Spider-Man and Iron Man, who both also star in their own shows within this series: Spidey and his Amazing Friends and Iron Man and His Awesome Friends. They’re joined by Hulk, Black Panther, Ms. Marvel, and Captain America (in his Sam Wilson form).
The design for Sam Wilson’s Captain America in the new animated series is really cool. He’s wearing a mostly white suit with a headpiece and visor, and of course, the classic Captain America shield. The red, white, and blue color scheme is consistent throughout his entire look, even down to his shoes and wings. It’s great to see elements of his Falcon persona still represented, which feels very connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
How The New Avengers Special’s Captain America Compares To Other Versions Of The Marvel Hero?
The suit Captain America wears in the new animated Avengers series looks a lot like the one Sam Wilson (Falcon) used in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and again in this year’s Captain America: Brave New World. Essentially, Spidey and Iron Man: Avengers Team-Up uses Sam’s suit from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier but gives it a more cartoonish design.
Compared to Captain America’s white suit in Brave New World, Sam Wilson’s suit in the 2025 MCU movie is different because he doesn’t wear a headpiece – he just wears his red glasses. However, all three versions of the suit are quite similar, which isn’t surprising since both the MCU and the Avengers special have carefully copied the look of Sam Wilson’s suit from the comics.
