I was watching an interview with Gwyneth Paltrow recently, and someone brought up Avengers: Doomsday. It was kind of funny – she totally acted like she had no idea what they were talking about! She just responded with, “What’s that?” It seemed like she was deliberately avoiding saying anything that might get her in trouble with Disney or Marvel, which I get. It was a clever move, honestly.
Gwyneth Paltrow responds to Avengers: Doomsday return question
Gwyneth Paltrow recently discussed the possibility of returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) during an interview on ABC’s Good Morning America. With a new Avengers movie scheduled to come out in December 2026—and a first glimpse of it coming soon—fans are eager for any news about the highly anticipated film.
Near the end of Gwyneth Paltrow’s interview, George Stephanopoulos playfully asked if she might return for a movie called ‘Avengers: Doomsday.’ Paltrow pretended not to know what he was talking about, responding with a coy, “What’s that?” Co-host Robin Roberts chimed in, joking that everyone involved with Marvel films acts like that, and Stephanopoulos explained they were just required to ask. Paltrow continued, saying she wasn’t familiar with the title and didn’t think she’d heard of it.
Gwyneth Paltrow first joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Pepper Potts, Tony Stark’s partner, in the 2008 film Iron Man. She continued to play the role in several subsequent movies, including Iron Man 2, The Avengers, Iron Man 3, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame. However, Marvel Studios didn’t announce whether she would be in the next Avengers movie when they revealed the cast earlier this year.
Great Expectations star will join Timothée Chalamet in the upcoming film, Marty Supreme, which will be released in the U.S. on December 25, 2025. She plays the character of Kay Stone in the movie, directed by Josh Safdie. The film also features Odessa A’zion, Kevin O’Leary, Ronald Bronstein, and Abel Ferrara as part of the cast.
