Nick Reiner’s $4M Bail Revoked For Rob & Michele Reiner’s Murder

Nick Reiner is now being held in custody without bail after being accused of murdering his parents, filmmaker Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner. His $4 million bail has been canceled.

Police announced Monday that Rob and Michele were likely victims of a homicide. They were discovered dead in their Los Angeles home with apparent stab wounds. Their daughter, Romy Reiner, found them and called 911 on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at approximately 3:30 PM.

People magazine first reported that Nick was suspected in the couple’s deaths, citing multiple sources with knowledge of the situation. The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed these reports on December 15, 2025. As of today, Nick has not yet been formally charged with any crime.

Police announced they arrested the suspect around 9:15 PM. Although bail was initially set at $4 million, authorities have decided to hold him without bail for now. Investigators determined that Nick Reiner, age 32, was responsible for the deaths of his parents, Robert and Michele Reiner. He was arrested around 9:15 PM and is being held without bail on murder charges. I’ve been following this case closely, and a law enforcement source told Deadline that prosecutors are practically guaranteed to charge Nick with double homicide, or something very similar. If he’s convicted, it’s looking like he could get life in prison with no chance of ever being released. It’s a really serious situation.

Nick is one of Rob and Michele Reiner’s three kids. He also has an older half-sister, Penny Marshall, from his father’s previous marriage. Reports suggest he recently moved back in with his parents.

The suspect had openly discussed his struggles with addiction. He co-wrote the 2015 movie Being Charlie, which was based on his own life story, and his father directed it. His father, Rob, said that working on the film together brought them closer.
