After more than ten years, fans can finally purchase a beloved collectible that’s been hard to find.
Good news for Dragon Ball Z fans! A popular MegaHouse figure of Son Goku, originally released in 2010, is being re-released, according to a recent post from the industry news and fan site Catsuka. It’s called the “Desktop Real McCoy Dragon Ball Z Son Goku 01 -Limited Reprint Edition-.”
The figure is now available for pre-order from official retailers and costs around $60 to $70. It’s scheduled to ship in June 2026.

The MegaHouse figure hasn’t been re-released since 2015, but a new version is coming in 2026 with a few small changes. It still shows Goku riding a dinosaur in a colorful, action-packed pose, but the figure and its base have been updated for this release. You’ll be able to order it from international retailers like CDJapan and others.
Since 1984, people around the world have loved the Dragon Ball manga. With the anime franchise nearing its 40th anniversary in 2026, many special releases and events are being planned to celebrate this milestone.
A new store opened in Tokyo in November after being announced in July, featuring unique and exclusive items not available anywhere else. While the store offered a wide variety of merchandise, some customers were disappointed with the results, considering the amount of publicity it received.
In late November, Kazuhiko Torishima, the former editor-in-chief of Shonen Jump and longtime editor of Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball manga, shared his thoughts on Akio Iyoku, the executive producer of Dragon Ball. Torishima described Iyoku as someone with an air of arrogance who dictates decisions despite not having contributed creatively to the manga. He jokingly referred to Iyoku as “the head of a secret society,” emphasizing that Iyoku hadn’t written or drawn any part of Dragon Ball himself.
Torishima expressed his frustration with the official Dragon Ball store, apologizing to fans who had visited. He feels the store is taking advantage of fans, assuming they won’t notice low quality merchandise as long as they’re willing to wait in line. He believes the best way to address this is for fans to stop buying the products, showing the store that they won’t accept subpar items. He hopes this will force the store to reconsider its approach, as sales are currently encouraging them to maintain the status quo.
Torishima recently hinted at potential issues with the next Dragon Ball movie. During a live stream, he expressed pessimism, suggesting that given current circumstances, the film likely won’t be very good.
People have interpreted this as a hint that a new Dragon Ball Super project is coming soon. However, others are skeptical, citing the ongoing legal issues with the franchise and the fact that Torishima has often been critical of those currently in charge. This leads some to doubt the reliability of his statement.
