On Saturday Night’s Main Event, Bill Goldberg is set for what appears to be his final match against Gunther. Despite this, his impactful wrestling career will continue to resonate. Although he won’t appear in future WWE events, his signature “spear” move remains a popular technique among contemporary wrestlers. Interestingly, according to Goldberg himself, only one of these modern performers has the authentic right to execute it.
In the WWE, Roman Reigns, Charlotte Flair, and Bron Breakker frequently utilize a powerful move known as the spear in their performances. Notably, many other wrestlers also employ this maneuver when needed during matches. However, Goldberg, who is well-versed with numerous wrestlers, believes that only Bron Breakker should be executing the spear.
What Bill Goldberg Had To Say About Bron Breakker And The Spear
To clarify, Goldberg didn’t spontaneously hand over the spear to Bron Breakker. Instead, when asked about Undertaker’s remark that Breakker should be the only one to carry the spear, Goldberg expressed his full agreement with this idea.
I firmly believe that among all humans in the WWE, he’s the one who should perform that task. I’m aware I might face criticism for saying this, but I don’t mind because I speak from the heart. Simply put, that’s just how things are.
It doesn’t come as a shock to me, given Goldberg overlooked Bron Breakker in a previous WWE video highlighting weak spears. Moreover, it’s reasonable to assume that Breakker’s brutal spear on IShowSpeed during the 2025 Royal Rumble is still fresh in people’s minds, which might explain why his proficiency with that move stands out.
How Will Other Superstars Respond To This Comment?
It seems unlikely that Goldberg will face much opposition from WWE superstars given his upcoming retirement match. However, it was a daring decision to undermine Roman Reigns’ finishing move before Goldberg’s retirement bout, and at this point, it may be impossible to change that outcome.
It appears that Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights might be teaming up with the WWE, and here are my thoughts as to why Bray Wyatt deserves a special attraction.
It’s possible Goldberg might face a backlash more severe than his tractor accident wound, but I don’t believe Gunther will retaliate harshly against the ex-WCW star for stating his opinion. Besides, as he stated during the interview, it’s the truth.
It’s thoughtful of Goldberg to acknowledge Bron Breakker, given that he hasn’t been making much impact in the WWE at the moment. Interestingly, Goldberg and Bronson Reed have found themselves as Seth Rollins’ enforcers, a role I often notice when tuning into Monday Night Raw with my Netflix subscription. However, it seems like the momentum of both characters on the main roster has slowed down due to this current storyline. Maybe Goldberg’s recognition before his departure will remind WWE writers that Breakker is a force to be reckoned with and deserves more significant roles beyond being Rollins’ bodyguard.
