Interview With The Vampire Season 3 Sets 2026 Release Window

Okay, so I’ve got some news for fans of AMC’s Interview with the Vampire. Season three is officially happening next year, but with a twist! They’re calling it The Vampire Lestat now, and it’s going to be a big change. The first two seasons were a really interesting take on the original novel, but this time around, they’re diving into the second book, The Vampire Lestat, and telling the story entirely from Lestat’s perspective. I’m really curious to see how that shift in viewpoint will play out.

I’m so excited to hear that The Vampire Lestat is officially coming back! TheWrap just confirmed it’ll premiere in the summer of 2026. And the best part? Sam Reid is returning as the iconic Lestat de Lioncourt, reimagined as a rock star – how cool is that? Jacob Anderson will be back as Louis de Pointe du Lac too, which I’m thrilled about. It’s going to be amazing to see their story continue!

The trailer for season 3 of Interview with the Vampire debuted at New York Comic Con in October, along with the announcement of new actors joining the cast. These include Sheila Atim, who will play Akasha, The Great Mother and Queen of the Damned, and Noah Reid as Larry. Ryan Kattner will play Salamander, Seamus Patterson will be Alex, and Sarah Swire will portray TC.

The new adaptation of The Vampire Lestat will follow Lestat’s current concert tour while also delving into his past. To depict this, Jennifer Ehle will play his mother, Gabriella de Lioncourt, and Damien Atkins will portray his creator, Magnus. Ella Ballentine will appear as Baby Jenks, and Jeanine Serralles as Christine Claire. The trailer also features returning characters Daniel Molloy, played by Eric Bogosian, and Armand, played by Assad Zaman.

As a critic, I found the Interview with the Vampire series really compelling. The first two seasons stick pretty closely to Anne Rice’s original novel, but they cleverly rework how the story is told. Instead of the book’s straightforward framing device, the show jumps between a failed interview attempt in the 70s and a new one happening in 2022. At its heart, though, it’s the story of Louis, who became a vampire thanks to Lestat way back in the early 1900s. Their relationship? Let’s just say it was passionate, complicated, and often incredibly destructive.

So, after finally breaking away from Lestat, I – Louis, that is – couldn’t quite bring myself to kill him. It’s complicated! Anyway, Claudia and I ended up in Paris in the second season, where we stumbled upon a whole other group of vampires. That’s where I met Armand, the leader of their little circle, and honestly, we’re still together when Daniel’s interviewing me about everything. It’s a long story!

Season 3 of Interview with the Vampire will likely feature tension between Louis and Lestat, even long after their romantic relationship has ended, and Lestat will be jealous of Louis’ connection with Armand. However, the show has been praised for its creative changes to the original story, so viewers can anticipate unexpected twists when the new season arrives in summer 2026.
