It’s still a few weeks until the end of the year, but movie studios are already starting to share previews of their biggest films coming next year. We’ve recently seen trailers for Toy Story 5, gotten a first look at The Devil Wears Prada 2, and watched initial footage from The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. If you’re eager to see a preview of Christopher Nolan’s upcoming movie based on The Odyssey, you’ll need to make a special trip to IMAX theaters in the next few days, as extended previews will be shown on the large format screens.
Variety reports that fans will get a sneak peek at Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey attached to several upcoming films. Starting this Friday, December 12th, a nearly six-minute prologue from the movie will play before 70mm showings of Ryan Coogler’s Sinners and Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another, both of which are returning to theaters. The following weekend, beginning December 19th, the same prologue will be shown before IMAX screenings of James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire And Ash.
The latest trade report says the full trailer for The Odyssey will be shown before every screening of Avatar 3 in theaters across the country. This comes after a short teaser for The Odyssey was shown with screenings of Jurassic World: Rebirth and Superman earlier this summer. However, there’s no word yet on when the trailer will be released online.
This groundbreaking film is the first to be shot entirely with IMAX cameras. Matt Damon stars as Odysseus, the famed hero facing numerous dangers on his long journey home after the Trojan War. The movie also features a stellar cast, including Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron, Zendaya, Tom Holland, Jon Bernthal, Robert Pattinson, and Lupita Nyong’o.
