Gundam Takes on New York for Special U.S. Christmas Gunpla Release

Gundam has seen a surge in partnerships with other brands recently, particularly as many of its shows and mecha celebrate milestone anniversaries. Now, a well-known lifestyle brand is creating unique model kits featuring two of the most iconic Gundam robots.

Kith is celebrating the holidays with its “Kithmas” event, and this year includes two new Gundam model kits. These kits are highly detailed, built to “Master Grade” standards, and feature a unique, modern color design. The event also happens to fall at the same time as the conclusion of a significant story arc for one of the featured anime series.

Gundam Fans Can Celebrate a Merry Kithmas With the Newest Master Grade Model Kits

To celebrate its yearly end-of-year event, which features collaborations with various brands, Kith is launching two new Master Grade Gundam model kits. The first is a special edition “Kith for GUNPLA MG 1/100 RX-78-2 Version 2.0 Gundam,” based on the iconic RX-78-2 from the original series.

What sets this model kit apart is its unique color scheme, a blend of dark and light blue with orange accents, all inspired by the city of New York. Beyond the aesthetics, it’s a highly detailed build and includes several classic weapons like a Beam Rifle, a napalm attachment, two Beam Sabers, a bazooka, a Beam Javelin, a sticker sheet, and even the powerful Gundam Hammer. You can order it now from the Kith website for $99, which is the price for the Master Grade version.

Kith also offers a model kit of the Wing Gundam, specifically the version from the original TV anime series. This kit features the classic wing design, as opposed to the more organic wings found in the later OVA movie, New Mobile Report Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz.

This model shares a similar color scheme to the RX-78-2, but with more white. It comes with swappable hands, a Buster Rifle, a Beam Saber, a shield featuring the Kith logo, a foil sticker, and detail stickers. However, it can’t transform into Neo-Bird mode.

These two new model kits are now available for fans to collect, and their designs, inspired by Kith, help them stand out from other versions of these robots. It’s also significant that 2025 will be the 30th anniversary of , the first anime in the series to be released in the West, so it’s fitting that this celebration features a New York-themed release.

Several other popular series have also reached important anniversaries this year. The fact that Gundam is now being featured by a Western lifestyle brand highlights its increasing popularity over the past few years.
