With the release of Avengers: Doomsday about a year away, the filmmakers have confirmed another actor joining the cast.
According to Liam Crowley, Letitia Wright will be in Avengers: Secret Wars. When asked about when filming for Black Panther 3 would begin, Wright initially stated they had just finished Secret Wars, calling it a great experience. She quickly corrected herself, saying it was actually Doomsday they had finished, and that Secret Wars is the next project she’ll be working on. She admitted she mixed the two titles up.
Wright told Screen Rant she had a great time working on what is likely Avengers: Doomsday, and is eager for audiences to see it. As for Black Panther 3, she’s waiting for the director to reach out with any updates, but emphasized that Doomsday was a very enjoyable experience.
Marvel’s evolving stories have deeply affected Wright’s connection to the franchise. She expressed her enthusiasm, saying she loves how the Marvel universe constantly surprises and develops. She feels honored to be a part of it, seeing it as a tribute to their past work and a way to carry on her brother’s legacy. Wright is particularly excited to see her character, Shuri, grow and develop in future films.
What To Expect From Marvel Studios’ Future
Marvel Studios has big plans for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including movies like Avengers: Doomsday, Avengers: Secret Wars, and Black Panther 3. Both familiar and new heroes will appear in these films and on Disney+ shows. After some mixed reactions to projects following Avengers: Endgame, Marvel is now under pressure to consistently deliver high-quality entertainment.
The next Avengers movie, Avengers: Doomsday, will show the team facing even bigger threats with a changing roster of heroes. It’s expected to finally introduce Robert Downey Jr.’s version of Doctor Doom. Following that, Avengers: Secret Wars might continue the story from Doomsday, or it could draw inspiration from the comic book series of the same name.
Not much is known about Black Panther 3 yet, but Ryan Coogler is confirmed to be directing. This has sparked a lot of interest among Marvel fans, who are hoping the movie will further explore Shuri’s role as the new Black Panther and introduce new characters.
Avengers: Secret Wars arrives on Dec. 17., 2027.
