Alien: Earth Creator Reveals If a Predator Crossover Could Ever Happen

Both the Alien and Predator movie series are doing well now that Disney owns them. With Alien: Earth recently renewed, fans are speculating whether we might see a crossover event in the new season.

Details about season 2 of Alien: Earth are still scarce, as the show was only recently renewed. When creator Noah Hawley was a guest on the SmartLess podcast, the hosts asked if the show might team up with the Predator franchise. Unfortunately, his answer suggested that’s unlikely to happen.

Josh Hawley shared his enthusiasm for both Prey and Predator: Badlands, but confirmed he doesn’t intend to merge those stories with the Alien universe. Currently, Alien: Earth will only include the classic Xenomorphs as its predatory creatures.

I’m not currently involved with the show, no. I really admire Dan Trachtenberg’s work, especially ‘Prey,’ and I think he’s doing a fantastic job with that franchise – he definitely has a vision for it. I’ve only met him once, and we haven’t discussed any potential collaborations. So, it’s not something I’m planning on doing at the moment.

Hawley has definitively dismissed the possibility of an Alien versus Predator crossover in season 2 of Alien: Earth. He highlighted director Trachtenberg’s success with the Predator franchise, particularly Prey and Badlands, to illustrate that the two series are currently separate entities. While he doesn’t rule out a crossover happening someday, it won’t be part of his show.

With the recent film Predator: Badlands showing connections between the Predator and Alien universes – specifically, by including technology from the Alien franchise’s Weyland-Yutani corporation – it seems likely Disney is planning a future crossover featuring both the Xenomorphs and the Yautja. This opens up many possibilities for stories that bring these two iconic alien species together.

Another science fiction film, Alien: Romulus, is coming soon. It’s currently unclear if this new movie will connect with the Predator series, but a crossover isn’t out of the question.

The new series, Alien, is the first television show in the Alien franchise. Set in 2120, the story begins when a spaceship crashes on Earth, releasing dangerous creatures called Xenomorphs. The series centers around a group of young, artificially created humans known as the Lost Boys, who were made by their creator, Boy Kavalier, and his company, Prodigy Corp. This show is a prequel to the original 1979 Alien film, taking place two years before the events of that movie.

You can now watch season 1 of Alien: Earth on Hulu. As of today, there’s no confirmed release date for season 2.
