Pokémon Gen 10 Map Leak Promises “Around 30 Islands” For Massive Open World

With the release of Legends: Z-A, fans are now looking ahead to Pokémon Generation 10, which will be featured in the next main series games. Despite the Mega Dimension DLC for Z-A still on the way, reliable Pokémon leakers have begun sharing details about Gen 10, reportedly named Pokémon Wind and Waves. The newest information suggests the games will have a very large, open world to explore.

Centro LEAKS has revealed a preliminary map design for the upcoming Gen 10 update. The new region, inspired by Southeast Asia, currently features about 30 islands in the test version of the game. The leaked design shows the layout of the larger islands, which are arranged in a pattern resembling a vertical infinity symbol. This supports earlier reports from Centro LEAKS that ‘infinity’ will be a key theme in Gen 10.

Pokémon’s Leaked Gen 10 Map Could Be Huge

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet were the first games in the series to feature a completely open world with one continuous map, and the upcoming Pokémon Wind and Waves seems to be continuing that design. While Pokémon introduced a tropical region inspired by Hawaii – the Alola region in Sun and Moon – the new region for Generation 10 looks to be an even bigger tropical area.

The sketch from Centro LEAKS is simple and appears to be based on a recollection of an early version of the Gen 10 map. It portrays a large, mountainous island in the northeast and a desert island in the southwest. Two islands located in the center of the map – a larger one and a smaller one – are shown as volcanic.

Pokémon Wind And Waves Leaks Are Everywhere

With an official announcement of Pokémon Wind and Waves likely coming soon (assuming that’s the correct name), more details about the next generation of games are being revealed. Centro LEAKS has been sharing information, including how the new games will update the Ride mechanic. Like the Rotom Bike in Sword and Shield, Wind and Waves is rumored to include a Rotom Scooter.

The Rotom Scooter changing forms based on which Pokémon you link it with suggests it will be how you travel between islands in the next game. Many fans think the tenth generation of Pokémon will only be available on the Switch 2, especially since the upcoming spin-off game, Pokémon Pokopia, is also exclusive to Nintendo’s new console. Pokémon games seem to be getting larger and more expansive with each release, and the next generation could feature its biggest open-world map yet – a huge archipelago to explore.
