Okay, so the story is about this really smart, funny teenager who convinces his friends to go on a treasure hunt in the woods. His sister, who can read minds, warns them it’s a bad idea, but they don’t listen! Naturally, they get lost, and things go from bad to really bad when they realize they’re being hunted by a cannibalistic killer. It’s super suspenseful!

Recap
Okay, so this movie starts with a bunch of teens heading into the woods, thinking they’re going on a fun treasure hunt. Things quickly go south, though – they get lost, and it soon becomes clear they’re being hunted by something lurking in the shadows. It’s a really tense, fast-paced thriller as they desperately try to escape with their lives. It’s a classic race against time scenario, and honestly, it kept me on the edge of my seat!
Best Parts
A standout aspect of the movie is its portrayal of teenage characters. It realistically depicts younger teens facing danger, a refreshing change from most horror films that center on 18-year-olds. This approach may be a deliberate attempt to appeal to fans of shows like Stranger Things, pairing the vulnerability of youth with supernatural or horror elements.
Worst Parts
The film starts with some promising concepts, but quickly loses momentum. A significant portion of the movie—around 15 to 20 minutes—shows the characters attempting to escape a hole that doesn’t seem particularly difficult. Beyond that, it’s mostly slow scenes of them walking through the woods, punctuated by a few jump scares that don’t really land.
Final Thoughts –Crispy wants to be a shocking found footage film, but fails to land the horror.
