Some Halo fans feel the series has declined since its early days. While the original trilogy was a huge cultural phenomenon, more recent games haven’t had the same impact. A lot of fans, for instance, would struggle to remember the plot of Halo Infinite.
Some Reddit users think they have a great plan to regain popularity. It centers around bringing back familiar, nostalgic elements, and it seems like a solid idea.
Halo Fans Want Two Unlikely Allies To Reunite
It’s Time To Go Back To Halo’s Roots
The Arbiter, a character in the Halo series voiced by the amazing Keith David, first appeared in Halo 2 and quickly became a fan favorite. Being a playable character from the Covenant side was a major innovation. His story is deeply connected to the events of the first Halo game, explaining why he was considered an outcast within his faction.
The first Halo game focused entirely on fighting the Covenant, so when we saw a different perspective – their side of the story – it really surprised players and drew them deeper into the universe. Keith David’s portrayal of the Arbiter was a major factor in making the character a beloved part of Halo’s history, and the character was simply well-written and executed.
He had a clear purpose, and his abilities complemented Master Chief’s perfectly, creating a surprisingly enjoyable partnership.
Many fans are eager to see the Arbiter make a comeback, and some were surprised he wasn’t included in Halo Infinite. One fan, pharoahc, explained, “It feels like we skipped Halo 6. A true Halo 6 would have featured Master Chief, the Arbiter, and Blue Team, but the game’s direction changed significantly, and I think it was a step backward. I was hoping to see the story involving Cortana continue.”
Keith David has said he’d be willing to reprise his role in the Halo series, and one fan, MajorZepyhr, is a huge admirer of the character The Arbiter. They believe he’s the best character in the entire Halo franchise and feel that The Arbiter and the Elite allies haven’t received enough attention since Halo 3 ended.
Arbiter And Chief Haven’t Teamed-Up Since Halo 3
Keith David Is Having A Resurgence, Too
While Halo 3 marked the end of the main story arc between Master Chief and the Arbiter, they had a short reunion after the events of Halo 5 in the novel Halo: Bad Blood. That’s the only significant development we’ve seen since the original trilogy, and details about their meeting were intentionally kept minimal. Currently, we know very little about the Arbiter, as he wasn’t included in Halo Infinite at all.
Halo fans are currently concerned about the direction of the series. While the original game is being re-released, the future of the franchise is uncertain. Many hope the character of the Arbiter will play a key role in revitalizing it when the time is right.
