Now that we know when it will air, there’s exciting news about the filming of Y: Marshals. The new Yellowstone spinoff, led by showrunner Spencer Hudnut (known for SEAL Team on Paramount+), is coming to CBS. Luke Grimes will return as Kayce Dutton, stepping away from his life on the ranch to take on a new adventure.
The new series Y: Marshals is scheduled to premiere on CBS on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at 8 PM Eastern Time. It will air in the same time slot previously held by the popular drama Tracker, which will now move to 9 PM Eastern Time. Along with the announcement of the premiere date, we’re now getting a glimpse behind the scenes of how the show is being made.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight at the ACMA Awards, actress Olivia Kebbell shared an update on the show Y: Marshals. She expressed relief and gratitude that the series finally has a release date. Kebbell, who is known for her roles in The Vampire Diaries and 9-1-1, also mentioned that filming will wrap up in approximately three weeks, and that the whole team has been working incredibly hard. Here’s what she had to say:
We’ve put in a lot of effort, and I’m really happy we finally have a release date we can share! Filming is almost finished – we’re wrapping up in about three weeks – and soon it will be available for everyone to see.
Taylor Sheridan, the creator of the Yellowstone universe, is executive producing Y: Marshals. The new series follows Kayce Dutton as he leaves the ranch to become a U.S. Marshal. He’ll use his skills from ranch life and confront his personal history while working to enforce the law throughout Montana. The show will explore the challenges he faces balancing his work with his family and the emotional strain of the job. Alongside returning cast members, actress Jen Landon joins the series as a fellow Marshal.

The new series will feature a character named Beulah Jackson, played by Annette Bening, who leads a large and influential Texas ranch. While a release date hasn’t been announced, the show, The Dutton Ranch, will stream on Paramount+.
