Linda Hamilton’s New Sci-Fi Movie Osiris Is a Streaming Hit on Hulu

Despite negative reviews, Linda Hamilton’s new science fiction horror film is currently the most popular movie on Hulu in the United States.

The movie Osiris received generally negative reviews after its limited release in theaters and on streaming platforms. While critics gave it a 50% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, audiences agreed with the same score. However, despite the mixed reception, Osiris has become a popular hit with Hulu subscribers, proving there’s an appetite for its intense, alien-focused story.

The movie Osiris centers around a skilled team of Special Forces soldiers who are unexpectedly kidnapped by a spacecraft during a mission. When they wake up, they find themselves hunted by a dangerous alien species. Stranded in a hostile world filled with deadly creatures, the soldiers must team up with a diverse group of survivors, led by a woman named Anya, to find a way back home before they are all killed.

Alana Hamilton stars as Anya, who leads the group of survivors. The cast of Osiris also features Max Martini, Brianna Hildebrand, LaMonica Garrett, and Michael Irby.

William Kaufman wrote and directed Osiris. Production took place in Louisiana in 2024.

After Osiris, Linda Hamilton Heads to Netflix for Stranger Things

Most people recognize Hamilton for his role as . But while Osiris is currently very popular on Hulu, Hamilton has been promoting the final season of Stranger Things. He’s taking over the role of , following Matthew Modine’s character, Dr. Martin Brenner, who was killed off in the last season.

Series co-creator Ross Duffer has said they enjoy featuring artists popular in the 1980s whenever possible, as they were all big fans growing up. He specifically praised the character Sarah Connor from The Terminator, calling her a strong, capable woman.

Even though she’s a well-known figure, she admits to feeling like an outsider when it comes to a certain popular show. She’s a devoted fan, having enjoyed every season, but struggles to see herself represented within its world. She describes it as a feeling of ‘imposter syndrome,’ especially because the show is set in the 1980s, a time and place she doesn’t immediately connect with. When you become deeply invested in something, she explains, it can be surprising not to find your own experiences reflected back at you.

Joining the popular cast of Stranger Things – which includes Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Brett Gelman, Cara Buono, and Jamie Campbell Bower – is new addition Hamilton. Netflix will release the final season in two parts: the first five episodes will be available on November 26th, followed by the next set on Christmas Day, with the series finale premiering on New Year’s Eve.
