Evangelion Fans Celebrate 30th Anniversary with Ingenious ‘A Cruel Angel’s Thesis’ Cover

A stunning Instagram reel features two Japanese artists recreating the iconic theme song “A Cruel Angel’s Thesis” with just their voices and the natural sound of an underground parking garage. They even used everyday objects like a spray bottle and water container to create the music! You can find an explanation of the acoustic science behind their performance in the Japanese-language comments.

Japan is using special tiles that turn footsteps into electricity. These tiles capture the energy from each step you take. When someone walks on them, the pressure causes the tiles to bend slightly. Inside the tiles, a material called piezoelectric converts this bending motion into electrical power. While each step only creates a small amount of electricity, millions of steps together can power things like lights, screens, and sensors.
