According to Deadline, Sadie Sink, known for her role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, will be appearing in Avengers: Secret Wars, with production scheduled to start in 2026. It’s currently unknown what Marvel character Sink will play in either film. However, her casting in Secret Wars suggests that her Brand New Day co-star, Tom Holland, will return as Spider-Man for the crossover event. Neither actor is anticipated to be in Avengers: Doomsday, which has already finished filming, though some additional scenes may be shot soon.

Fans are getting closer to finding out who will be the newest character joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with speculation around figures like Jean Grey and Gwen Stacy. Sadie Sink, as her role in Stranger Things wraps up this December, appears to have found her next big project. According to Deadline, Sink will star as Juliet in a new stage adaptation of Romeo & Juliet, directed by Robert Icke. Noah Jupe, known for his roles in A Quiet Place and Honey Boy, will play Romeo opposite her.

When she was initially cast in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, many fans guessed she might be Jean Grey or Mary Jane Watson. Others have suggested less common characters like Quake, Black Cat, or the villain Shathra. Sink herself hasn’t confirmed anything, and when asked about playing Jean Grey, she remained evasive, though she does seem to like the character. It’s possible she won’t be joining the X-Men at all. Here’s what she said back in March:

I’m not going to comment on this, but I enjoyed reading the rumors – especially the one about that character. It’s a fantastic character, so it was fun to see them mentioned.

As a huge movie fan, I’ve been following all the leaks for the new Spider-Man: Brand New Day film, and even though the production team is trying to keep things under wraps, information keeps slipping out! We’ve even spotted Sadie Sink on set this year, which is exciting, but nobody can guess who she’s playing. There was some chatter about the Punisher getting a sidekick, but that’s still just a rumor. However, knowing Sadie’s confirmed role in Avengers: Secret Wars, I’m pretty sure she’s going to be playing a significant character, whether it’s Jean Grey or someone else entirely!
