With the release of new popcorn buckets and merchandise, fans are getting excited for the upcoming third Avatar movie. Despite a recent re-release not performing well in theaters, Avatar 3 is still predicted to be a major financial success in 2025. This new wave of merchandise will further boost the film’s popularity.
Regal Cinemas has revealed the first images of the special popcorn buckets and merchandise coming for Avatar: The Last Airbender. Although prices haven’t been announced yet, the items will feature beloved creatures and wildlife from all three Avatar films, letting fans celebrate the world of Pandora.

One bucket is decorated with scenes of Pandora, showing its rivers, tall mountains, and lush plants. It also has a design of an Ikran – a flying creature – in teal and black, referencing the original Avatar film from 2009. The Ikran is pictured with its mouth open and wings spread, appearing to cling to the side of the bucket.

A new popcorn bucket is shaped like an Ikran, one of the winged creatures from the movie. The popcorn itself goes into a section designed to resemble the woven baskets used by the Na’vi people.
The new merchandise line features drinkware decorated with Ikrans – small figures that appear to hang from the rim of the cup. These containers are designed to look like wood or stone, and each one showcases a uniquely colored flying banshee.

TikTok user @disney_hype_beast_80 also showed off the new Avatar 3 popcorn buckets available at the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles. These buckets seem to be a smaller size than previous versions, and they’re designed to look like the trees where the Ikran creatures build their nests.

A teal-colored Ikran toy dangles over the side of the bucket, and it appears other plastic Ikran figures are also included. This merchandise is expected to retail for $24.50.

The third Avatar movie, titled Avatar: Fire and Ash, will continue the story of Jake and Neytiri after the loss of their son, Neteyam. The film will introduce a new, hostile Na’vi tribe known as the Ash People—one of four tribes planned for the Avatar series—and star Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, and Kate Winslet. Avatar: Fire and Ash is scheduled to be released in theaters on December 19, 2025.
Will Avatar 3 Merchandise Add to Movie’s Success?

With the success of the first two Avatar films, the upcoming Fire and Ash is expected to be another huge hit at the box office. The original Avatar remains the highest-grossing movie of all time, earning $2.92 billion, and Avatar: The Way of Water made $2.32 billion just three years ago, making it the third highest-grossing film ever, behind the first Avatar and 2019’s Avengers: Endgame.
For the first time, Avatar films will have merchandise sold directly at movie theaters – a practice that’s become increasingly common with big releases. Following the success of items like the popular sandworm bucket from Dune: Part Two and the collectible mask from Deadpool & Wolverine, Avatar 3’s merchandise is expected to contribute to the film’s overall performance.
At 3 hours and 15 minutes long, Avatar: Fire and Ash is the longest film in the Avatar series yet. It promises to redefine the sci-fi genre with exciting new action sequences featuring various Na’vi clans.
