During a recent film screening at the Screen Actors Guild and Television Academy (as reported by Entertainment Weekly), Erivo finally addressed the upsetting incident involving Grande, sharing the following statement:
It’s incredibly meaningful to me that this movie has resonated with others, that people see themselves in the character and feel a sense of safety. That’s the greatest outcome I could hope for from any creative work. I’m especially grateful I was able to make it with the person beside me. We’ve been through a lot, both in our personal lives and even just recently. This film has truly helped us grow – as individuals, as friends, as sisters, and as artists.
