I Want To See A Gen V Season 3 If Not Just So The Show Can Try And Top That Ultra Disgusting Reveal In The Season 2 Finale

Be warned: This article reveals major plot details from Season 2 of Gen V. If you haven’t seen it yet, we recommend watching it on Amazon Prime before reading on – you’ve been warned!

The world of The Boys is known for shocking and disturbing content, with the super-powered characters often engaging in truly awful behavior. Both The Boys and its spin-off Gen V have explored a wide range of extreme and unsettling actions. It leaves you wondering how the show could possibly get more shocking, and I’m hoping a third season of Gen V will deliver an even more intense moment than anything we’ve seen so far, especially considering the season two finale.

The latest episode of Gen V centers around a desperate attempt to stop Thomas Godolkin (Ethan Slater), who believes standards for superpowered individuals have fallen too low. He plans to eliminate most of the students at Godolkin University. Our heroes can’t directly reach him, so they come up with a truly unforgettable plan: they hide inside the incredibly large and complex interior of Black Hole (Wyatt Dorion), emerging to fight when the moment is right. This scene has quickly become iconic within the Boys universe, and the actors enthusiastically discussed it during my recent interviews with them.

I recently spoke with the cast of Gen V – Jaz Sinclair, London Thor, Derek Luh, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, Asa Germann, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Hamish Linklater – during a press event in Los Angeles. As you can see in the video at the top of this article, I asked them about filming the season finale’s shocking twist. Everyone agreed it was one of the most surprising and creative moments in either Gen V or The Boys, and they were really impressed with how it all came together. Sean Patrick Thomas commented,

I think it’s brilliant, honestly. It’s such a clever idea – I can’t believe anyone thought of it! And it’s not just for laughs; it actually serves a useful purpose and helps people.

More Gen V!

Hamish Linklater was both thrilled and unnerved by a major surprise the show ‘Gen V’ had in store for him during the final episodes of its second season. Both Linklater and co-star Sean Patrick Thomas have discussed how unsettling it was to explore the manipulative control Cipher exerted over the character Polarity.

As a movie and TV fanatic, I have to say this moment is brilliant because it’s not just a throwaway gag. They introduce Black Hole and, well, that part of him, right away in Season 2 of Gen V. At first, you assume he’s just another weird face in the crowd. But nope! There’s a very specific reason they bring up this… infinite anus, and it’s to pull off what I genuinely think is the most revoltingly clever plot twist I’ve ever seen on TV. It’s a total Trojan Horse, but… you get the idea.

The actors revealed that the filmmakers used some clever techniques to film the scene. They built a slide for the actors to use, and even a fake structure for them to appear from. London Thor, who plays Jordan Li alongside Derek Luh, admitted the shoot was definitely a bit awkward.

There was a prosthetic butt used in a scene, and we had to physically interact with it. I remember touching it and maneuvering around it. It was unexpected, and the intimacy coordinator came over, concerned because we hadn’t talked about that level of contact. I just kind of shrugged it off and went with it, even though it was a bit awkward. It was a strange experience, both to perform and to witness.

The recent events were definitely shocking, but they’ve also become an iconic moment for the show and set a new standard for future installments. While we’re still waiting for news on Gen V Season 3, The Boys Season 5 is scheduled for 2026, and a new prequel series, Vought Rising, featuring Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash, is also in development.
