A new video from Tony Olsen Film features Bo Bragason as Princess Zelda, dressed in costume and walking through a forest. Fans also believe they’ve spotted Dichen Lachman, who they think is playing Impa – Zelda’s protector from the video games – in the footage.
It’s still unconfirmed whether the actress will actually play this role, but a recent scene showed her alongside Zelda and a group of horses.

I was so excited to see the video @josh.and.pine posted! It looks like they’re filming with Benjamin Evan Ainsworth – or maybe his stunt double – as Link! He was wearing his iconic green tunic and bundled up in a coat, probably to keep the costume clean. Apparently, they started filming back in early November, which is amazing!
Wes Ball, the director of The Maze Runner, is heading up the movie adaptation of The Legend of Zelda. Derek Connolly and T. S. Nowlin wrote the screenplay. Fans have been speculating about which game in the long-running series will be the basis for the film, but details are still secret.
A movie based on The Legend of Zelda is in development, joining a growing trend of video game adaptations. Paramount is working on a Call of Duty film directed by Peter Berg, with Taylor Sheridan writing and producing. Plus, Nintendo is continuing to expand its presence in theaters with The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, set to release on April 3, 2026, after recently sharing its first trailer.
Following the huge success of the first Minecraft movie – which earned over $957 million worldwide – a sequel is planned for release on July 23, 2027. Fans can also look forward to The Legend of Zelda movie, coming to theaters on May 7, 2027.
