‘Masters of the Universe’ Gets “Amazing” Early Reaction After Secret Test Screening

The classic franchise Masters of the Universe is being reimagined for the big screen, directed by the filmmaker known for Bumblebee and other successful movies. Although the film is still being finalized, the studio has shown a rough cut to test audiences, and some information about it has already appeared online.

An early test screening of Masters of the Universe recently took place, and despite attendees being asked to keep details secret, a first impression has emerged online. According to the John Campea show (as reported by ComicBookMovie), someone who saw the film called it “amazing,” even though it’s still a work in progress. It’s important to remember that this is just one person’s opinion and might not reflect how everyone will feel. However, the continued positive buzz surrounding the reboot is encouraging.

I spoke with someone who got an early look at He-Man, and they were incredibly impressed. They weren’t involved in the project at all, so their opinion was completely unbiased. They described it as amazing and said they were totally shocked and surprised by how good it was.

For the past year, fans have gotten behind-the-scenes glimpses into the making of the new Masters of the Universe movie. While the reboot appears to be a true-to-the-original adaptation, it’s still unclear if it will meet fans’ high expectations. However, Mattel Studios President Robbie Brenner has expressed strong enthusiasm, recently sharing that she saw an early cut in mid-October. Brenner was incredibly impressed, describing the film as a fantastic companion piece to Barbie, which marked Mattel’s first big foray into major film releases.

I recently saw a director’s cut of the movie, and honestly, I was completely amazed! This will be our second film released in theaters, and I truly believe it’s the perfect pairing with Barbie. I have a feeling audiences are going to love it – it’s a blast and feels totally fresh and unique.

‘Masters of the Universe’ Trailer Description Reportedly Leaks Online

Warner Bros.

The new Masters of the Universe movie is scheduled to release in June 2026, and a trailer is likely coming soon. While there hasn’t been an official announcement, reports suggest a trailer is in development and has even been shown to some test audiences for feedback. According to descriptions of the footage, the trailer will feature Prince Adam’s journey to Eternia and include familiar quotes that longtime fans will appreciate.

The episode starts with Prince Adam chatting with a friend on Earth, and they’re both puzzled by the presence of Cringer, who’s turned into a green tiger. Then, Prince Adam travels to his home planet and discovers his family history, explained by someone who appears to be the sorceress – though it was difficult to see clearly due to watermarks on the screen.

Okay, after that initial burst, the trailer shows Prince Adam chatting with folks around Eternia. We get a super quick peek at Skeletor and what I’m pretty sure was Evil-Lyn. Then, finally, the moment we’ve all been waiting for – Prince Adam lifts the Sword of Power and shouts “I HAVE THE POWER!” – and we see him transform into He-Man! There are a few fast cuts of him battling as He-Man before the trailer wraps up.

I’m so excited for Masters of the Universe to hit theaters on June 5, 2026! The cast is incredible – Nicholas Galitzine will be playing Prince Adam/He-Man, and Camila Mendes is Teela. But it doesn’t stop there! Jared Leto is taking on the role of Skeletor, and Alison Brie will be Evil-Lyn. We’ve also got Idris Elba as Man-At-Arms, Sam C. Wilson as Trap Jaw, Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson as Goat Man, Kojo Attah as Tri-Klops, Morena Baccarin as the Sorceress, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson as Fisto, Sasheer Zamata as Suzie, James Purefoy as King Randor, Charlotte Riley as Queen Marlena, Jon Xue Zhang as Ram-Man, and even Kristen Wiig as Roboto! It’s shaping up to be a really fun movie.
