New sneak peeks from The Super Mario Galaxy Movie have been revealed! These short clips introduce audiences to Brie Larson as Rosalina and Benny Safdie as Bowser Jr. We see Rosalina telling a story to the Lumas, and Bowser Jr. determined to rebuild his family’s reputation. The clips are dropping as anticipation builds for the animated movie, following the release of its first trailer.
The Super Mario Galaxy movie releases two new clips
Nintendo has shared a couple of new scenes from the upcoming Super Mario Galaxy Movie, offering fans a first glimpse of some of the characters they can expect to see.
The first part of the video shows Rosalina, played by Brie Larson, reading a story to little star-like creatures called Lumas. However, the Lumas quickly interrupt, demanding to hear a story about the plumbers instead. Even though Rosalina points out they already heard that story, the Lumas keep chanting “plumber” until she agrees to tell it.
In another scene, we see Bowser Jr., the film’s villain, vowing to rebuild his family’s reputation. He declares, “A new ruler will rise from the ruins of my father’s loss, and the Bowser name will be feared again.”
New footage from the upcoming Super Mario Galaxy Movie was revealed during the recent Nintendo Direct. The movie will once again feature the original voice cast from The Super Mario Bros. Movie, including Chris Pratt as Mario and Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach. Charlie Day, Jack Black, Keegan-Michael Key, and Kevin Michael Richardson are also returning to reprise their roles, alongside directors Aaron Horvath and Michael J. Larson, and producer Safdie.
The new movie, directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic and written by Matthew Fogel, continues the story from 2023’s hugely successful The Super Mario Bros. Movie – which broke records as the highest-earning video game adaptation ever.
The movie will hit theaters on April 3, 2026, and will then premiere in Japan on April 24th.
